I just wonder if the postion was reversed?
Would our resident atheists be as forgiving of believers if they wanted to partake in something that went against their core beliefs?
Any sign of double standard or hypocrisy is heavily criticized by the other side when you believe in a higher power.
If I were to celebrate Christmas in the name of Jesus or God, then yes it would be going against my beliefs. Seeing as how all it is to me, is a day off and family time, it goes right along with my beliefs.
I doubt many atheists celebrate Christmas for any religious reason, if they did they wouldn't really be atheist, would they?
Also, just for some clarification, I am not atheist, I am agnostic. Regardless, I still don't believe in God.
What it means to be agnostic for those who do not know
Atheists do not "believe" in any god(s), deity's of any kind.
Agnostics do not "know" if there are any god(s), deity's of any kind.
Meaning, until there is rock solid proof in front of me, I don't believe in any deity.
