(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey ngu whats up? Well all you guys should know the company Microsoft and sony! Are you paying more then you should?

Well i made this thread to inform you on some stuff about these company's.

Normal xbox's or slims cost around $250. To make a xbox is costs less then $10 i heard. so they are making around $200 dollar profit if you think about it

How it works?
well there is always a "china" eh?
they buy bulk millions of parts from china for really cheap and build it in america. Really all they need is plastic and medal. Same with sony same thing.

Whole point of this thread.
i made this thread to inform you on how much it really costs to produce an xbox/ps3.

Thank to everyone who took the time to read this thread so not flame me thanks.

Remember i saw this on the internet and if you really think about it is true THANK YOU!!

First of all i worked at best buy while i was going thru college. they do not offer any discount on any game consoles as they sell them for the price they get them already. there is a huge different in price on almost everything in the store except for gaming consoles. it costs sony more than $300 to make the unit they sell for $300. they do this b/c they know they will make tons of money off the games you buy for it. about 1/2 of that $60 goes to sony the other 1/2 to the game developer. oh yeah and i almost forgot that the store does make decent money off of selling the games and accessories thats why they dont mind selling the gaming units at cost. a cd is nearly all what in the business world we call "net profit" so there is huge markup and money to be made by selling the games. this is why sony reacts so swiftly to piracy of their games and exploiting the ps3 so that users can copy games to the HDD.

second of all. yes people in china work cheap, and they make 1/2 assed sweaters. when they do make electronics its like toy dogs you get at the dollar store that usually dont work. believe me, no random chinese guy is sitting around making ps3's for 1/2 a cent an hour.

Microsoft and Sony and retailers didn't want to charge astronomical amounts of money to consumers when the Xbox and PS3 launched. So they set prices lower than they production costs, This allowed them to sell more units knowing some day that the production costs would be low enough to make a profit and that they would make the lost money back on software sales.

Wait are you serious? You're seriously going to sit here and tell me that the price we're paying for these consoles isn't close to what it costs to actually "make" the console? Greedy capitalists trying to turn a profit!!! :FU:

Ermm yeah employees at Best Buy get to buy things from the store at the same price the store gets it for. I have a friend working the cell phone section there, and in video games. It costs sony maybe five dollars to mass produce each ps3, and they give it to stores for around 60$, the stores mark it up to 400$. Where sony pays money for it is the creation of the idea, and translating that into a real thing.

Yes, but no. You paid less than it cost to manufacture the consoles. They actually lost money on the console you bought.

Honestly you think you can produce high-tech equipment such as the PS3 for $5! and that Best Buy makes a $340 profit on each PS3 they sell? Thats ludicrous!

Honestly the vast majority of this forum have obviously never worked a day in their life. Ye have no no sense of value for money.

March 6, 2011.
Sony employs roughly 158,500 or so people. Selling a system for 60 bucks isn't going to give the employees shit. Especially when the employees make graphic cards, processors, systems etc. I highly doubt an XBOX takes $10 to make(unless you're talking solely about the external). The guts of the XBOX/PS3 take a lot of time, money and employees.

Don't believe everything you hear.

Yeah have you heard of this great innovation called buying things in bulk? :O You get huge discounts on the material that way. That's how companies make things in mass quantities. It really does cost them about only 5$ to make it, and that would just be for materials mainly. And yes it is crazy that stores like Best Buy jack up all of their prices, and it's probably not making sense to you since you haven't found out yet that people rip you off CONSTANTLY with almost everything you buy. And somehow this turned into me never working? Except that I have a job right now while in high school along with sports. People are crooks, get used to it I guess.
