A rumour has arisen from a source that is famed for leaking other information such as: confirming Black Op's March 2010, naming Kinect before E3 May 2010, first Gears 3 Images April 2010, as well as others. This source has said that a new Call of Duty title from Infinity Ward will not be created on an new game engine, and will not be released this year under the title Modern Warfare 3.

The rumour speculates that Infinity Ward are creating a game that will focus on the character Ghost who appeared in Modern Warfare 2, this game will centre around the events leading up to the war in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare as a prequel, and it will then move on to reveal how Ghost became a member of Task Force 141, based on the comic book stories written by David Lapham. As you look into Ghost's life, players will revisit locations from both Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2, but this time from a different perspective.

Although entirely a rumour, it is from a very good source.The game is meant to be in development on the Modern Warfare 2 engine. Robert Bowling (Infinity Ward's Community Manager) was contacted, but has neither confirmed or denied the rumours.

Pretty sure Activision already confirmed it was MW3 the remainder(lol) of IW was working on, when that legal battle w/ JW & VZ arose.

Means the game can't advance more than Black ops really. Otherwise the lag, slow-loading and everything else will be even worse.

Very interesting... I think it would be hard to have a sequel to all of the doomsday shit that happened in MW2's campaign story, so it makes sense why they wouldn't head further into the future. I just hope this game is more similar to COD4 than MW2.

IW must finish the MW story
in mw2 you killed the one guy that betrayed you, but the real person you were aiming for is still alive
They cant leave the story unfinished

this would make sense since they centered a whole comic series around him but i really want to know what happens after MW2 :( get Makarov! :carling:
