(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I constantly hear people berating Pokemon games because they're for kids, or they're nerdy, or they're lame. And I want to know, what do the inhabitants of NGU think? (When I say Pokemon games, I mean Pokemon RBY, GSC, RSE, FrLg, DPP, HgSs, and BW.) When you post, please post your reasoning for it. Elaborate if possible, remember, this is a DEBATE! Cool Man (aka Tustin)

As for my personal feelings on the matter:
I personally do not think Pokemon games are "lame." I'm not really an avid fan of the genre, I used to be, but I cut back quite a bit over the past 4 or so years and recently picked up Soul Silver (what a rush of nostalgia!).

While I do feel that the concept has been beaten with a stick repeatedly, I generally kept a pattern of getting at least 1 game per generation and find myself truly enjoying the games. I couldn't name more than maybe 10 fourth generation Pokemon off the top of my head, but I'm not going to say that the fourth generation was retarded.

The concept of Pokemon remains strong, and that is that you amass creatures with wondrous powers and make them do battle, and it effectively turns into a complicated, glorified version of Rock, Paper, Scissors. There's also the fact that it's accessible to people of all ages and can be played even by those who don't know how to read. It's a classic RPG series and is not one to be dismissed as childish, nerdy, and/or lame.

Pokemon is serious business :mudkip:

It depends on what kind of games you like!
