I would definitely say mac. I'm on one right now. Plus parallels (ubuntu + win7) runs like the native machine anyway.

If mummy and daddy are willing to pay an extortionate amount for a mac then go for one but otherwise you can get a reasonable pc for a cheap price especially at this time of the year, a lot of deals to be had.

Well, i like Macs because they are easy to use...
but what really crap, is there is hardly anything that you can download. Everything that you download on the Internet is "mainly" for windows.

So, i use both

Preference for Mac, but in terms of cost efficiency, PC.

the majority of software written is/are for windows operating systems.
i think that pretty much tells you which of the 2 has the upper hand in terms of variety.
macs only occupy a small percentage of the computer market compared to windows.i mean,you'd only have to ask all your friends and families what operating system they use to have an understanding of the popularity of windows.
