Before I began let me state I don't believe in Buddha, Jesus, Osama bin laden or Donkey Kong.

I have no religion, never have, never will I like to see things before I believe. I respect religious people and there religions. I just had a thought for what happens when you die.

So when you die what happens?
Some people think you go to heaven, some think your born as an animal, some think you live an afterlife.

What I believe is that this life now is one of many we have experienced every time you die your born again as a different person maybe here on earth maybe on another planet.

Each time your born you think its your first life and your last.

Thats what makes life so great. We are only here once, or so it seems...

Thanks for reading.

After you die, your mind shuts down, your mind enters nothingness. You don't feel, you don't see, you don't think. You're not even there anymore. It's bleak and it's uncomfortable, but it's the most logical answer.

What I hope happens, (and this coincides with stories of people who have had near-death-experiences) is that the brain kicks into overdrive and simulates an afterlife, as a way to comfort the mind. There are stories of people who have died and been brought back to life in a few minutes who claim to have seen God. As God is not real, this is obviously a hallucination of some kind, meaning the brain is aware that it is in danger and attempts to comfort the mind. Whether this is with a short hallucination or a full scale afterlife simulation (which would be recalled as a dream if the person were revived) is not known, but I would hope for the latter, as I want all the time to remain conscious as possible.

Please understand that the above isn't fact and I don't believe it with all my heart, it is just a best-case-scenario.

When the energy shuts off so does the computer.

But where does the energy go?

Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transformed, and transferred.

If that's your genuine believe, you should actually know about what you're talking about :p Collide two atoms together? We've already split the atom. We found protons, neutrons and electrons. We even found 6 'flavors' of quarks, which are basically what were inside protons and neutrons. I assume you're talking about the Hadron Collider and mean when we find the illusive 'Higgs Boson.' The particle that is so hard to find that it's beginning to look as if it doesn't exist, which means disaster for scientists all over the world.

As for your "Welcome to level 2" theory, I think you need to stop playing so many games :p Although, as mathematics seems to be the language of the universe, maybe it is fair to think that life is basically just one big mathematical algorythm or a computer based program / code? Who knows?

Welcome to the Matrix! :P

It's a bit unsettling to think that our lives mean nothing, but from a logical standpoint it's true.

Haxor!
Personally I think we are reborn as an animal, or as another human being. But i guess the facts of what really happens will never be proven unless science works up some awesome equation to figure this stuff out. O.o

Its crazy if your right about the "another planet" part. I was thinking about that too. Too bad we'll never know :/

I really don't know what happens when you die, logically, the stream of consciousness generated by your brain disappears as the cells and nerves which create it are destroyed. So what happens then? You cease to be conscious of yourself as a living being, your consciousness is now non-existent. I imagine it'd be like passing out forever.

On a sidenote, I really want someone to just say "You respawn"

You Respawn... :carling:
