Well, this is starting to get me really ticked off. I just bought my HD PVR for 200$, and the AV Componet cables. I hooked it all up, with the "out" cables hooking up to my T.V. (componet 1) and my "in" PS3 AV Cables going into my ps3.
I plug it in, and my T.V. auto goes into YPbPr1 (I think that is what it is called), but the screen is Pink.
My T.V is 1080i (maxed, it doesnt include 1080p) HD. WHich should be compatible with the HD PVR.
I checked on my laptop, and there is video and sound, but on my T.V. I can hear sound, but a pure GREEN NOW screen.
If you can successfully help me record, without the pink screen, step by step, I will give you 9$.
haha i was just playing. and now i understand what your saying. btw is there a way i can donate without hooking up a credit card cause my parents are being b!tches and dont want to hook up their credit card
You said if the HD PVR has an HDMI port, which they don't (as far as I know) and you said "the settings on the pvr". What I am saying is have both the normal HDMI connection he would be using set up and once that is working as it usually would connect the HD PVR with the AV/Component cables and make the switch from HD to AV in Display Settings on the PlayStation, which is what PVR's record with (again, as far as I know). So no, you didn't.
Also, thread moved to General Help and Advice :y:
Thanks for moving, I didn't know where to put it, and I didn't really understand what you said to do, can you explain it again?

mine does. it's that Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious hd pvr you can only get if you're related to the president Hauppauge! :carling:
connect the component to the PVR and tv. Then just hold the power on button on the CONSOLE for 3 beeps. This resets the display settings to default which should be compatible with w/e tv you're using. Then turn it on. If it works then you can go the display settings on the XMB and change it to your liking :p
