President Mubarak has resigned and left Egypt, his son Gamal, has also quit. This is a shock to most people as he has been advised to stay until the next election.

The protesters will be happy that there work has been complete, but for all the injuries and deaths that have occurred they will feel some what Guilty.

News reporters have been forced into hiding in the past couple of days and film footage has been hard to get hold of, most CCTV cameras were disabled. But early this morning the stock market was re-opened along with banks.

The new secretary general of the party is Hossam Badrawi, seen as a member of the liberal wing of the party.

Will Egypt's journey uphill start now? We will just have to wait and find out.

RIP to all of the people who have died during the protests.

Best thing about Egypt is that it has remained a secular government for years.
Time will tell what power base will take over and whether the protesters are informed enough to realize that the Muslim Brotherhood may not be the best choice for Egypt at the present.
This is a very destabilizing event for a non oil producing secular government to fall in this area.
God knows these recent events have scared the crap out of the Saudis and other oil producers in the region and the west will be watching and likely screwing up chances of anything good coming out of this.
There is enough F'd up over there without these events causing possible military consequences in the future.

You got to hand it to the Iranians however, 40 yrs after the overthrow of the shah (good job Jimmy Carter ) They are reshaping the region to their benefit and have become the major power broker in one of most strategic areas of the world.

Egypt is raised as a muslim land, so they have to keep it as a muslim land,
It will not be good if a christ will take it over.
