Battlefield 3 needs to be "a better shooter" in order to dethrone Call of Duty from its FPS throne, says EA senior gamplay designer Alan Kertz.

If you have been active on twitter you may have seen him replying to some of the questions he has been asked, the main thing he stated in his replies were "You don't kill COD by trying to be COD. You kill COD by making a better shooter."

He also promised there has been a massive improvement in graphics and the DICE team have gone into more depth. "BF3 will be deeper than BF2, we've paid a lot of attention to keeping depth while pacing the learning curve." Its obvious that the team at DICE really want to become the king of FPS (First Person Shooters), this new Battlefield installment will be a big improvement over the passed and they have promised it will be.

After being asked about the new Call of Duty DLC (Downloadable Content) he replied "BF3 is the sequel to BF2. It's not BC3. No, grappling hook and zipline are not in the plan." Showing us they want nothing to do with Treyarch and want to crush there reign as leaders.

What do you guys think?
