Yes. I said that the US was much smaller during the 1929 Depression. Now the US has a much bigger role in society.

During the 1920's the US was most likely doing the best out of most of the world's economies. Nowadays it does play a large role, but during the depression the US manufactured much more. Once again no real evidence pointing toward the end of the world.

Well, its not the main cause, but look at the middle east and all the uprisings going on at the moment.

In the 1920's Hitler was rising to power, as was Mussolini, and Stalin. Once again, no real evidence suggesting the world will end in 2012.

They didn't have nuclear weapons of mass destruction at that time.
