(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This is a somewhat touchy topic but I honestly want to know why you people who do drugs, do them.

I can't think of ANY positives that come from doing them.

So please enlighten me as to why you smoke or do drugs. Change my mind that they aren't completely retarded, I can give 3 negatives for each positive you come up with, that is if there are any.

I already feel 'good'. I don't need a buzz or whatever you guys say. It doesn't seem fun. Again I have no experience so I guess I can't judge but you guys can't honestly say you use marijuana and drugs to increase your health like you were giving examples of. Yes just as steroids and HGH are often prescribed they can also help in rare circumstances just like marijuana and everything else. Marijuana is probably the most tolerated drug but I don't need to waste money and a small portion of my health on 'feeling better' and a '1 hour buzz'.

Just my view on your guys thoughts.

Maggbot timeout!
I will NEVER smoke cigs or cigars in my life. Why? Asthma.. Weed Don't plan on it either. Hate the smell of the smoke. Makes me cough terribly. I have been around smokers but they know about my disorder and they kindly don't smoke when I am around at their place etc.

Drinking.. Don't like it either. Can't stand the taste of beer or most alcohols (although the fruity sh*t has a nice taste).

I am in sports and can't risk the consequences. Our school is in random drug testing. And I have seen family and friends messed up due to alcohol, drugs, etc. My cousin was driving drunk and had weed in his system. Needless to say he ran off the road, hit a tree, and was sitting in the hospital on life support for nearly four months. And now he has to re learn all life tasks. Last I checked he was about 28ish.

My closest cousin in school recently rolled his Cavalier due to drunk driving. And countless other friends. A friend from another town rolled his car and crushed his hand and is now having surgery.

And to those that say weed has no effect and it is okay.

ffects on the Brain

The active ingredient in marijuana, delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, acts on cannabinoid receptors on nerve cells and influences the activity of those cells. Some brain areas have many cannabinoid receptors, but other areas of the brain have few or none at all. Many cannabinoid receptors are found in the parts of the brain that influence pleasure, memory, thought, concentration, sensory and time perception, and coordinated movement. When high doses of marijuana are used, usually when eaten in food rather than smoked, users can experience the following symptoms:

  • Hallucinations
  • Delusions
  • Impaired memory
  • Disorientation

Effects on the Heart

Within a few minutes after smoking marijuana, the heart begins beating more rapidly and the blood pressure drops. Marijuana can cause the heart beat to increase by 20 to 50 beats per minute, and can increase even more if other drugs are used at the same time. Because of the lower blood pressure and higher heart rate, researchers found that users' risk for a heart attack is four times higher within the first hour after smoking marijuana.

Effects on the Lungs

Smoking marijuana, even infrequently, can cause burning and stinging of the mouth and throat, and cause heavy coughing. Scientists have found that regular marijuana smokers can experience the same respiratory problems as tobacco smokers do, including:

  • Daily cough and phlegm production
  • More frequent acute chest illnesses
  • Increased risk of lung infections
  • Obstructed airways

Marijuana contains more carcinogenic hydrocarbons than tobacco smoke and because marijuana smokers usually inhale deeper and hold the smoke in their lungs longer than tobacco smokers, their lungs are exposed to those carcinogenic properties longer. One study found that marijuana smokers were three times more likely to develop cancer of the head or neck than non-smokers. Many researchers believe than smoking marijuana is overall more harmful to the lungs than smoking tobacco.

Other Health Effects

Research indicates that THC impairs the body's immune system from fighting disease, which can cause a wide variety of health problems. One study found that marijuana actually inhibited the disease-preventing actions of key immune cells. Another study found that THC increased the risk of developing bacterial infections and tumors.

haha omg, my friend had to go to a rehab class for blowing a .001 it was so funny. Since Minnesota has a zero tolerance policy. He goes there when all the other people are like hardcore drug dealers and shit. So they're all saying stuff like they have been shootin up heroine since they're dad left them and weird crap like that and then it's his turn and they say "what are you here for". and he has to say blowing a .001 haha. And then the instructor was talkin about how crack makes your nerve receptors or something feel good, because it does, but its not good for you. And she was basically advertising drugs to everyone

Just hear to state my opinion u do not have to like it.

Smoking -
Yeah we all know its wrong. Its been proven to kill, yet considering crossing the road can get u into the same kind of trouble ?
Either way i do not recommend smoking if u never have do not start.

Smoking Pot -
Ok well as most of this community is swarming with 12-15 year old *kids*. I guess that u guys have a point, yet the fact that a 17+ year old smokes a joint after work to relax and let go a little bit doesn't harm any one. Moderation is the key to everything...

Drugs -
Well i have to agree drugs aren't worth your while. I personally have only been introduced to ecstasy and yes have done it a few times. Yet with different lifestyles comes different choices. I am not saying that i live for it just that i have done it a few times during my life.
Either way do not bother with drugs u can live a great life without.

Drinking-
Well i see nothing wrong with drinking. Please note i am working on a degree in bar tending Winky Winky The thing is beer is not the problem its the drinker.. If a person can not drink on a moderated level its there own problem, I mean going out to a club or party (depending on the age group) on random occasion's is a great way to let the steam out.
Once again its all about moderation.

Just my 2 cents,

I am 18 just about 19 I have been drinking as in partying since I was about 16 fairly regularly. I smoked stogies every now and again at parties and whatever. Have never smoked cigarettes they just have a bad smell to them very unappealing. Smoked weed once or twice, not a big fan don't plan on doing it again really.

For young kids, you should wait to do any "drug" of any kind if you even plan on trying them period. I think people should try new things to see what they like and whatever. But they need to do it safely and in a controlled environment as possible. Also there really are no positives at all that I can see in a literal sense coming of out drugs. Other than just to have a good time, I know some will say "but you can have a good time without doing them" that is true but I dunno I guess it is just the rush and feeling you get by doing them which attracts people do them.
