Personally I go with mortal kombat just because its not so cartoony. Street fighter is very balanced and great for tournaments but mortal kombat is so gory and fun to pick up and play. Fatalitys and the promoves are the reason I love the game. They are also the only fighting frantrise that accually trys to have a story and stick with it. I will buy mortal kombat 9 first day. When mortal kombat vs street fighter comes out, it will be epic and I hope street fighter is the guest game so it does look like a cartoon and fatalits are just as epic.

-positive: very balanced characters, alot of moves, many characters
-negitive: looks like a cartoon,

Mortal Kombat-great game
-positve: fatalitys, kombos look and feel spectaular, has a story, characters more appealing, blood, adult feel
-can sometimes feel unbalanced

The only SF games I like are the MVC series, and SF3: 3rd Strike. The rest of them are boring and not exciting at all.

The only MK game i like is Ultimate MK3, because I'm a beast at that game. And since I love that game so much, I voted for Mortal Kombat.

I disagree, the screenshots posted are clearly of a PC or maybe Xbox version. On HD ps3 it looks nothng like that picture. Street fighter is by far a better game engine, in the way moves are input, counter hits, even the offline experience with trials, arcade mode etc

Me too, anyone that says Mk is harder is a noob to Fighting games. Im not flaming MK I love it, but really it cant contest 3rd Strike/Impact or Super Street Fighter 4.

Personally I like street fighter better but that may or may not change when I buy the new mortal combat

I like Mortal Kombat more as it's more fun to play for me i don't really like playing Street Fighter it's just boring (for me)

MORTAL KOMBAT! is my favorite its just so fun to play with friends and the graphics are better I tried SF and it looked like a G rated MK so my vote goes to mortal kombat

Street Fighter overall is better, but the new MK game is better than SF4 imo.
