To some exciting news happening right here right now.

This is nuts. Guys don't look to far ahead on that timeline. All of that was typed out by someone with the knowledge the currently have. also, the estimations and assumed are made with current evidence.

It's merely a vague guideline. The years from now to around 2030 is reasonable to say the least.

Actually, the cosmological predictions in the far future are probably a lot more accurate than the micro-predictions of human advancement in the next few decades. They are relatively simple applications of the laws of physics.

Robotic pack mules are entering military service*

Dynamically stable, quadruped robots are being deployed in military support roles now. These are accompanying soldiers in terrain too difficult for conventional vehicles. They use four legs for movement, allowing them to move across surfaces that would defeat wheels or treads. They are capable of running at 4 miles per hour (6.4 km/h), while carrying loads up to 340 pounds (150 kg) and climbing slopes with 35 degree inclines.*

Locomotion, navigation and balance are controlled by an onboard computer that receives input from the robot's many sensors, which include a stereo vision system, laser gyroscopes, joint position and ground contact monitors.

These machines greatly reduce the burden of equipment for soldiers.

OMG. This is like Metal Gear Solid 4

Can’t trickshot me!
2080 - Construction of a trans Atlantic tunnel
2084 - androids are entering law enforcement (Thts freakin scary)
2180 - Asteroid terrorism. WTF?
3000 - Purely biological humans are typically 7 ft tall now, with life spans up to 120+ years. (basketball would be an awesome sport to watch lol)

Some of the shit they talk about beyond 10,000 is just mind boggling.

It is quite interesting though reading whant people actually think will happen. I mean most of it makes sense and it most likely will happen, but can anyone really predict what will happen?
You can't really predict what will happen tomorrow.

I can imagine this happening thought to be honest at some point,

A ballooning budget deficit, record levels of personal debt, and a declining manufacturing base, combined with excessive military spending and related activities (such as increased homeland security and surveillance) greatly damaged the US economy over the previous few decades. This caused long term damage to the country's standing.

The continued industrialisation of China and India has led to phenomenal growth in these and other Asian countries, with many millions being lifted out of poverty. Shanghai has eclipsed Wall Street as the leading financial centre.

Despite these changes, the US still retains its super power status - but it won't be the only country holding such influence for much longer. China and India are becoming major players on the world stage. What this means for geopolitical stability is the subject of much debate around this time, but most leading economists agree that a group of superpowers rather than a single hyperpower will mean increased conflict.

A significant number of these connections are now appearing on people themselves, in the form of wearable or implantable devices.
you know what that means :carling:
