It depends. If religion stays as strong and keeps the same mind as now, no.

It depends on what you mean by gender equality.
At sports, not possible, gender is separated because men are tougher (well, I guess it's the reason) and it will always tend this way.
At work, it's possible, gender equality can be applied when assigning jobs but being a man or a woman can make the job harder/easier. Firewoman is hard for example as breasts can be annoying when moving at some places.
At home, totally possible. Everyone can do anything at home, cleaning, washing, food, etc.

It's possible but I think it will never happen though.

He means treated equally. In order for that to work though, we must also eliminate the discrimination of lowering whats expected of women for certain positions and on testing.

Oh, treated equally... Well I think we can put this in the line with gay rights, colored people, arabs (so to speak) and all other funny stuff lol

We think at this current stage it won't happen but many thought black people did not derverse rights and look how that changed.

There's a big difference between rights and equality.

Women are legally equal to men, at least in the U.S. and most modern countries, but they're not always treated "socially equal". Its not right, but its true. The same could be true for African Americans as well, they may have the same rights as everyone, but it would be untrue to say that they not only face more racism than other races and cultures, but also often have to struggle more that other races to get the same benefits and rights.
I'm not at all saying its right or fair, just saying that its true.
