This has come from a little talk i had with my son!! Kids are getting sharper nowadays!!
I was trying to tell him about the real reason of easter and about jesus (i'm not religious he wanted to know!) so we got onto the talk of eggs!
I tried to explain it was the new beggining of life etc. so he asks about why they are chocolate!!
Can anyone explain that?!!
Then he asks where the eggs come from! (i thought he was going to get into the sex subject!) so i told him chickens!!
So he asks "Why is there an easter bunny for the eggs then dad has he adopted them!"
What the hell has a bunny got to do with chocolate eggs? I cannot explain can anyone!!!
Just tell your kid what i'm going to tell my boys. I'm jewish so don't take this to harshly.
Easter is in fact is just another stolen pagan holiday(by the Christians), if Jesus was resurrected it wouldn't have been during this time period(i.e. the spring it would have been during the winter, as his birth also wasn't in December).
In my opinion, the Christians got bored since the Jews had a holiday right that some times fell on Easter sunday, they could stake claim and hop on the band wagon and say "we got a holiday there too!".
So in turn they stole another pagan holiday that had almost disappeared(they also stole Christmas from the pagans.)
I have no scripture to back this up, this is just from the depths of my brain and i'm pretty sure i'm half right.
But seeing how you most likely are Christian, Just tell him every one likes to make up fairy tales for their holidays and this is our fairy tale.
