Sorry if you guys think this is a dumb thread.

Ok, For three years now I have found that my addiction to online FPS games has grown aton.(I only play COD btw) It used to be when Cod4 was the game I was on in the summer alot and then when school started I was still doing other activities. It has now gotten to the point were I get home from school at 3:30 PM from school get online play about 9-11 hours straight. Then I go to bed wake up at 5 AM and from then till I get home and get online Im thinking about games. In school I sit there everyday thinking about whats goin down on NGU and playing games like I dont know what to do or how to stop. Please give me some ideas to lighten my addiction

Thanks,
Zallunt

At least I can fight
First off you play 9-10 hours a day and are only 5th prestige? -__-

Anyways you could do several things:

1. Call your friends to hang out more
2. Stop playing at all
3. Have someone hack your account to 15th and wait to get permabanned
4. Look into a career in either developing games or pro gaming
5. Tell your parents you have this problem and they can really help
6. Find a new hobby like sports or something
7. Drugs, Sex, Rock and Roll?
8. Find interest in a girl

There are plenty more things you can do. Just actually DO one of them. The first step to addiction is realizing your an addict. The REAL first step is realizing that you WANT help. once you decide that take an action and get started. Good luck!

I use to be like this, as soon as I got home I'd go straight on COD and stay on it for like 4-6 hours. Than I had to go on holiday for 2 weeks, ever since I've come back I've hardly played, I play maybe twice a week for about 3 hours in the whole week. Just give it a couple weeks break and go out and enjoy yo life

Try to understand why you do it
One thing don't try to replace it with something else

I would try and cut down the play time slowly and try to do other things , good news you think it a problem that a good sign Smile

Try that site plasma linked and ask your doc for help (not sure if that useful )

I dunno, it's something that came naturally.
I became bored of cowadootay.
People move on I guess.
What you're looking for is someone to do that for you.

You must move on yourself.
He who look for himself in other people will get lost.

get out from what I understand on the read you said you think about NGU during the school are you a shy person? talk to the kids around you it's not hard at all to strike conversation (well kinda is if your shy I used to be shy but now I say there is not enough time on this world to be shy) and how old are you? age can be a factor on this

Im 16 And I am very shy around people I dont know.

Think about it like this. No need to try and prestige and get gold guns on Black Ops, it's a game. People in the real world don't care about that. IF you want to do something when you grow up you better get your priorities straight. I had the same problem. I played games non stop. Just sell your account, and don't play. It's simple. You need to find a new hobby though.
