(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys, i just read this and it crazy. A girl actually killed herself because of fear of the end of the world. I mean, Harold Camping has a girls death on his conscience./facepalm

A Russian teen committed suicide on Saturday after hearing about the impending rapture and chaos that would follow.

It’s a really big shame that this stuff isn’t true, and that Harold Camping is just spreading propaganda. He may not think he is, but to most Christians, and nearly all atheists, agnostics, and non-religious people, it’s quite clear that he was and still is. (See: Harold Camping moved his date to October 21st)

Unfortunately, there are some people taking it seriously. Not only are they spending all their money, but now we’re hearing about Nastya Zachinova, the girl who killed herself out of rapture fears. I knew that the casualties of these rapture claims were bad, but even one life lost over a silly lie is too much.

This really has to stop...

It is quite sad to see stupid little lies have such an effect on people. Such a shame.

Committing suicide in 99% of situations is a poor choice. I would never commit suicide, especially over what some guy said. Might be a little mean, but how gullible can you be to commit suicide over what one person says.

i find this story rather sad, that a teen wou.ld take her life in the fear she was going to die anyway. i wish the people that make up this bullshit would kill them selfs instead, the world would be a much better place.

You're not concerned that someone would commit suicide over the one point that someone says?
That would be like me saying "kill yourself".
If you did, it's really messed up.

She's 14, not 8. Being religious doesn't mean you can't educate yourself and ask questions. She should have questioned this ideal.

Yeah you're right.

A 14-year-old girl from the Republic of Mari El in Central Russia has committed suicide, allegedly because she was afraid of the upcoming doomsday, predicted by the American radio preacher Harold Camping.

She might not have access to the internet, but I doubt she was sane. The word allegedly also caught my attention..

I don't think if some one said "kill your self", any one would . It was a belife/happening that was on the news and many other "religeous/non religeous/genaral" websites. Some people, well a "minority" of people probably thought it was really going to happen. This probably caused the girl a lot of stress which led to suicide.
