It’s a really big shame that this stuff isn’t true, and that Harold Camping is just spreading propaganda. Unfortunately, there are some people taking it seriously. Not only are they spending all their money, but now we’re hearing about Nastya Zachinova, the girl who killed herself out of rapture fears. I knew that the casualties of these rapture claims were bad, but even one life lost over a silly lie is too much.

I'm not bagging on any belief, but let's be honest. I will go she grew up in a Christian family and went to church every Sunday.
You can tell this by "“We are not righteous; only the righteous will go to heaven, and we’ll stay on earth and face terrible suffering,”" That is from her diary.
Her being a teenager only makes it worse by having hormones taking place changing her feelings toward it. Now add the mass propaganda and fake reasoning behind it ending and something was bound to happen.
Irrationality combined with propaganda never goes well.
