The Salvation Army will be celebrating the 73rd Doughnut Day June 3rd. Doughnut Day started as a fundraiser for the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army is widely credited with popularizing the doughnut in the United States by feeding American soldiers the tasty treat during World War I. The “lassies” of World War 1 served donuts to soldiers behind the front lines.

I think I'll celebrate this day, by going to my local Krispy Kreme and recieving my FREE Doughnut. Yep, FREE. Just show up and get your free Doughnut. Oh, you want one?
