(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); THIS IS A 16+ year old topic. Yes. That means little miss billy can't post in here because since he's twelve, whatever little job he can do doesn't mean a single thing to me or you. I know, miss johnson always needs her seventeen kids watched and you're more than willing to play with sixteen diapers and balls for a measly twenty dollars that you can put toward another video game.

Okay. So guys, I know there's some older ones out there on this forum. I'm currently running a 7.7% chance at hitting an interview with any single application, and a current 0% chance at getting a job.
That means a lot, seeing as how I've applied to more than fifteen places. Some are food related, some are modeling related, some are computer related, and some are clothes related. Yup. The economy blows. BOTH my internships, not just one, but BOTH have been ripped apart due to cutbacks by both companies.
All my friends, or well.. most.. have been stuck in this whirlwind economy trying to find ways to make ends meet. I'm trying to pay off my ever-larger incurring debt that I am making including the ever-growing list of things I need. I haven't yet applied to internships outside the other two where I was supposed to get in because my resume sucks..

So now, I'm stuck putting together a resume. You know what sucks? I used to work a shit ton back in the day at Kroger and I made a pretty good name for myself but in a fit of rage, I had quit without notice because they had sand in their vaginas one day and wouldn't let me leave to go wakeboarding on a nice summer day. I stripped in the parking lot, put on a swimsuit, and left. IN FRONT OF MY MANAGERS. :] That's a great way to say "**** you" and leave on a bad note. Yup. So now I'm stuck down to only one work related reference. Guys, when it comes to stupid shit like this - it hits and sucks. Never quit without notice.

So, Johnny boy. How has the economy been ****ing with you? I can't even afford the following:
Beer.
Weed.
Condoms.
And that makes my life suck miserably.

Outsider, you're pretty much black, so you're double ****ed. What the hell have you been doing?

Also. Anybody play Black and White? I've just beat Black and White including Creature Isle and have been playing Black and White 2 while waiting for the wakeboard to hit me in the face like a rocket ship.

Considering condoms are 1$ each, I'm guessing you're completely f***ed.

Didn't see much of an affect on my part. Been same old same old ever since the recession started, only difference is the news and how much they say the economy is horrible. Most of the reason I haven't been affected is probably because I live in the DC/Northern VA area so odds are if the government doesn't shut down then I'm in a good position.

Nope, I buy the bulk packages, so like thirty-seven cents each. Still, I'm just as ****ed. Because sexual things aren't just limited to condoms - I need to buy vibrating rings by Trojan every other week as a sunday-night sex gift for my girlfriend along with KY Warm Sensation lubrication, and on top of all of that, I am buying her birth control through Canadian pharmacies.

Lucky bastard. Hope that you get nuked by North Korea. Ohio is devastated by the recession - let me tell you. I see tons of houses up for sale in the suburbs, tons of friend's parents have lost or are losing their jobs. The GM shut down has pretty much made me and my job expectations in the car industry fly down the tubes since I was going into a dealership as an assistant earlier last year. All that. I'm not as near in a bad position as some other places like in Arizona or California - but still. It's pretty bad when college kids are coming back with full degrees and are unable to find any jobs in their career. I have a brother with a double major in both Computer Science and in German who can't find a reasonable salary job and my fiance's brother has a single major in aeronautical engineering and the closest thing he's got is *MAYBE* a job with the air force for a fraction of what he was basing his loan off of originally.

i live in southern california.... im 20 and the only way the economy affected my life is that now i have to cough up $300 more per semester for school because they raised tuition due to budget cuts... and gas is being a bitch too it just went up from a steady $2.25/gal to $3.15/gal in like a week and its gonna keep going up! also my hours at work went from 48 hours a week to 25 and i basically make minimum wage so ya money is tight but its nothing we cant handle...

seriously a simple thing like turning off all lights and tvs can save a lot of money and recycle your recyclables and stop spending all that money on stupid shit!
to work and school i take my own lunch and it saves me like $10 a day ($5 for work $5 for school) that's $50 a week or $200 a month on food alone... think about that one!

I'm 13 but I think I'm the only one(13 year old) mature enough to post on this subject....

My mom used to be able to buy little shit here and there but lately times have been rough, we haven't been clothes shopping since December/January. My dad bought a house right before all the **** ups. He hit bankruptcy, lost the house and cars. Went from a Pontiac to a ****ed up Honda civic(Though he recently got lucky and scored a nicer Honda...no he's not Asian). I also see the ****ed up economy in the world around me, some of my favorite stores have closed down, I see 2 for 1 deals etc. Hopefully times get better.

I haven't been able to afford to buy condoms/beer/weed all my life, I just steal it form my cousin Smile^

LIES! Richie, I am also under 16 :p

The economy hasn't affected me much. My dad got offered a demotion, or he could walk from his company. He decided to walk and got a 150k severance package. He also is getting companies asking him to interview, as well as his former company trying to keep him and just move him to another Director job in the business. So far nothing has changed, except we may need to move to Tampa, FL if he doesn't get a job down here. Cox is starting up a wireless business and they want my dad to head-up the IT dept, so he really wants that job, too.

On Top of the Game
For me nothings changed that much, but for my dad; he just bought the family business from my grandpa so now hes making a crapload more money. And with it he bought a 65" LCD TV, 2 brand new cars and had his house completely remodeled even though it's only about 10 years old. And because my mom has "full custody"(I'm at my dads every Wednesday, Thursday and every other weekend but they somehow call that as my mom having full custody and that time visitation) he won't give me money for anything or buy me anything. My grandpa who's retired gave me about 200$ for my bday to go to a bball camp i wanted to go to and yet my dad only gave me like 20$, but gave my 11 year old stepbrother a brand new Ipod and all this other shit with it. He said this is because he doesn't have to pay for anything since he doesn't have custody. Yet my moms in a huge amount of debt barely making 30,000 a year while having to keep paying to repair her car and having to pay off a new furnace she just got since the other one was very old and stopped working. But now my dad who's making like 80k a year now with my step mom (who "strangely" was promoted from getting about 20k a year to now 60k per year ever since my dad married her) just tell me to get my mom to buy me clothes when I run out since I'm growing like crazy when shes in a crazy amount of debt when he could have done it but is just mad that he doesn't have cuztody. So he doesn't even give me money for movies or anything :(. I'm trying to get a job now too just so you know but this is a small town and there's like only three companies here so all he kids work here so it's kind of impossible to get one until someones fired or quits.

I'm 17 and I got my Red Cross lifeguarding certs which costed me a couple hundred to get

I applied to 7 different pools and got accepted to 1(the one I wanted lol). All the old ****s are applying for their old jobs from High School(lifegurading)becuase they need money and got laid off. And lifeguards get paid good, usually around $10/hour to sit on their ass and do nothing really

My friends dad got laid off and a person in my English class(when school was in) was crying becuase her house is going through foreclosure

My uncle worked at a GM plant in Michigan and got laid off. I think he saved enough to retire though. He knew GM was going down. Funny thing is when you go to Michigan its all American cars and you go to California its all toyotas, hondas, etc.

Your friend should look into the Air National Guard--they have loan repayment programs.

damn u Americans....if ur economy gets f'd up so does most countries around the world including England.... most people here are suffering from increased fuel, food, housing prices and so the cost of living is very high....also unemployment is increasing but luckily i'm going into a job career which is high in demand atm....is doesn't help when England is politically unstable too with all this expenses scandle and so many people wanting to kick the prime minister out....
