This topic came to mind as I saw a program on TV, 2 female police officers(UK) pretending to be prostitutes then subsequently arresting the "customers". Surely this is extremely unfair? Opinions, please

My opinion on this, I feel that it is sad that people can't find a good girl and take care of her and be a good boyfriend to actually earn sex. I think prostitution should be illegal because for one, it's disgusting. Two, it's a sign of you're desperate.

1) It's not disgusting, sex is healthy and the dude is just paying for a service.

2) Yes, however anyone who is desperate will need someone to f*ck, correct? Heck, you may not even be desperate. There are married guys who go around f*cking prostitutes all the time, a lot of politicians come to mind.

It's a two-way relationship, the girl should be earning it just as much as the guy, if it indeed even needs earning. Also, there are only so many good girls in the world and there are only so many realistic compatibilities in the world. It's not hard to believe after one good relationship one may take a few years to find the next, and therefore during that time will get horny. Some will go to a club and score. Whereas others will just hire a prostitute. It's exactly the same, except there's money involved. In the paying customer & the prostitute scenario, everybody wins, as long as said customer is smart/not stupid enough to use protection.

Dude prostitution might not be the most pretty job but it's a service for people who may be having personal issues with their family. Or an older man who doesn't get what he used to in that department, that can help stop depression or even sicker outcomes like likelihood of rape.

If you ever saw the show Underbelly there was a character that focussed on a girl who was saving money to get out of her current situation and the most profitable way to do that was prostitution. Means to an end man.

Fair enough, you have the right to feel sad about it. Does this mean you should interfere with their own choices and life though?

WTF does that have to do with legality. I am against smoking cigarettes, but you don't see me protesting for it to be illegal. People have the right to their body unless it effects others. The only people being effected are the prostitute and the man/woman paying for the sex.
