As a lot of you may know, Netflix recently announced that the prices are going to go up. For unlimited streaming you will pay $7.99, and same for unlimited DVD rentals. If you want unlimited both, you will have to pay $15.98.

A lot of you are thinking, "WTF NETFLIX?!?" Well here is what they are doing. Netflix over the years has been putting many DVD rental businesses out of business. They thought, "Let's make our prices really low, so that way people will forget DVD rentals, and come to us." Now with those companies out of the way, Netflix can raise it's prices. It is believed in the next few years prices may double or even triple what they are now. There will be other companies that do the same thing, such as Hulu.

There is your explanation Smile Hope it cleared up some confusion as to why they felt it was necessary to almost double their prices. Do you think this is fair?

AWMG. 8 dollars.

I know people get upset with all of these price increases, but these companies need to make money. If you were Netflix, don't say that you wouldn't raise prices a little if you could. That BS. Of course you would. You need to be competitive in today's industry, and you want to make the most profit. And $15 for unlimited both it STILL cheap as hell.

Are you high?
It's not that big of a deal. You can have streaming only for 8$. The only thing you might be losing is Dvd rental which is not such a big deal. They have some good shit on instant so yeah just be grateful they are giving you options.

I only stream. I love going to Sonic, and watching 24 while I eat. Hopefully this will never effect me.

Wont matter in Canada, because all the businesses went out of business 30 years ago! Almost everything on Netflix in Canada is old and shitty. Only good movie on the whole site is Billy Madison, and it went up like 2 weeks ago...

I've never really used Netflix. All of the movies on there all seem old and crappy to me, that's why I torrent my movies.

Blockbuster online subscription is better/cheaper. Also after you get the movie in mail and watch it you can go to blockbuster store and trade in the movie for a new one.
