(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); For those that don't know a heart murmur is an abnormal sound within your heart, although there is a big change of it not affecting you, it still needs to be checked out.

well as some of you know i have just joined the Royal Army i went along to my ADSC (2 day physical, medical and interview) and it took me 4 hours to get there by train, i arrived at 11 am and had a great start talking to everyone, me and a few lads discovered we were slightly colour blind but thats no biggy really.

We then changed rooms and the doctor came through cupped my balls and all that :L, she then proceeded to listen to my heart, she stood up and told me i had a heart murmur and i couldn't continue with my application into the army, i now have to travel to hospital on thursday to have my heart looked at.....by train and that trip is nearing 4 hours aswell, so not only were my dreams crushed but i was sent down to the train station and dumped there :( I was ok, I didn't cry because i knew there was a chance i could get this murmur sorted, but it kinda makes you feel like crap to know somethings wrong with the thing thats powering your entire body.

this thread is more of a rant than anything but thankyou for reading through this i'll let you know how i get on

Heart murmurs are actually a very common thing among today's society. I have one and several of my friends have one as well. I know mine is caused by a defect repaired at birth. It sucks that you weren't able to join the army but there are plenty of other options out there and I'm sure you'll find something else for you.

You're paid quite a small amount compared to if you got a proper job, you're contributing to a pointless war for oil and there's a small albeit very real possibility you'll be killed in action.

Now ask yourself again, is joining the army really the best idea? No

you my friend are miss informed because of my qualifications i will be paid a rather large amount due to the fact skilled and intelligent soldiers lets face it are hard to come by, my income will double by the time i am 19 now i think thats more than worth it, and as for your point on a war on oil you.......... couldn't be more right but i choose to defend my country, i dont see many others stepping uup to the task so might aswell be me.

either way i thank you for you opinion and i know a number of people whom share the same opinion this is merely my way of putting things
