(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hey guys,

i have recently been looking to upgrade my crappy ps3 headset to a much better quality one...my search has narrowed me down to two specific headsets, the 1st being a turtle beach px21 and the second a turtle beach dpx21 which is a bit more pricey as it has 7.1 surround sound...i was wondering if anyone could recommend which one of these is worth getting...i haven't had a proper headset before so i don't know if the 7.1 surround sound is such a big deal to have...

advice will be much appreciated

If you want a durable, practical and the best sound quality one go for the Astro A40 there a bit pricey but rarely every brake and have the best sound quality out of all the high end gaming headsets they also can plug into your iPod or Mp3 player for just some normal headphones. People say the sound about the same as beats but with less bass.
For a Cheap one go for the Turtlebeaches the sound quality is ok but they break very easily even if you look after them very well something will break on them.
For a midrange one go for the Tritton AX720 or AXPro they have slightly better sound than the Turtles and last alot longer. The only thing that breaks on them is the powersupply and they can be replaced easily.

You can't go wrong with amazon and certainly can't go wrong with surround sound. I don't know a thing about the Tritons but that seems to be a good deal as well. I recommend doing a google search for reviews on each headset you are considering. I do that quite often when I'm torn between different products.

yeh it looks like i have to do a bit more research now...thanks for the help mate

I have a pair of PX21s and they aren't bad. I don't like them because they sound like shit compared to surround sound. My other headset is a Turtle Beach X4 and those are amazing, but they were $200 when I got them. You should definitely get surround sound if you can, it's worth it. :y:

i have been doing some searching and reading and i think im going to go with the trittons....i have read heaps of good reviews and from what u r saying they seem to be a bit better than the turtles and the price is reasonable....i will look at getting an astro or something similar once i finish high school this year and start working lol

The dpx21s are not true 7.1 + There are only two speakers, in other headsets for the same prices there's 8.

I'd say to just go with the vbookie mod's suggestion. They are the best.

Any of the Trittons are good anywhere from their $50 sets to their $200 sets. They are wayyy more durable than Turtle Beaches. If youre looking for a cheap durable headset get the $70 Trittons but if you get a little cash def go with the Tritton AXPros.....Its the most amazing headset ive ever owned and you dont ever have to worry about them running out of battery bc they are wired Smile
