u mad cuz ur ***git
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey, guys, just thought I'd enlighten you to the relatively little known facts about the US judicial system so we could have a nice little discussion about it. Remember to comment; let's be as active as we can!

FACT: If the US government existed from the moment the Universe was created (13.7 billion years ago) and gained $1000 in debt PER YEAR since the big bang, it still wouldn't even be as much debt as it is in now...... Life would need to go on for over a billion years more with that steady debt level until it reached the state that it's in now.

The USA has the HIGHEST percentage of its own countrymen incarcerated. Over 1% of all the Americans alive today are in jail; over 2.3 million.
This is a higher percentage than China, Russia, UK and every other country there is. The USA imprisons almost 5x more of its countrymen than the average country does.

For EACH of these prisoners, it costs YOU, the taxpayer, $25,000 to keep them behind bars for ONE YEAR. This means that, potentially, with America's 3 strike policy, you could get 3 minor warnings for any offences over your lifetime and you'd have 25 YEARS to reflect on how corrupt the US prison industry is...... And this would cost taxpayers $625,000 just for keeping you there......

OVER HALF of ALL inmates in ANY US prison are in there for minor drug offences, such as possession of cannabis.
This means that the US Government spends almost $30,000,000,000 ($30 billion) PER YEAR on housing inmates for minor drug offences..... Don't you agree that there are SO many more important things that they should be spending your money on, especially in the financial crisis that it's in at the moment? The combined expenditures of local governments, state governments, and the federal government for law enforcement and corrections total over $200 billion annually.

Officially WHAT THE ****, AMERICA?!

Discuss~

It one of the worse prison services in the world :/

I agree 1000% on this. Yes, 1000%. Politics and the government is all about precedent which I don't believe to be the right option. Like you said, they're afraid to lose the credibility and what not. If politicians grew some balls and went against the norm we would have a more stable and respected government.

Another reason why they don't do it is because marijuana is bad in the public eye because people get put into jail for it. Someone needs to educate the public on how positive legalizing weed would be. Like the billions of dollars the government could make off of tax revenue, and the money that would be circulated into the economy because of the money we're not taxed for the people in jail for possession. I could probably go on for days. But I'll leave it at that.

Yeah same! haha i could go on for days about this topic. We actually had a discussion about this in my political science class not to long ago and majority was pro legalizing weed. As you said, the gov could easily make so much money off it this. Yet they're too dumb to realize how to actually earn money and are continuing to pass all these ridiculous bills and what not.

People get their chance in life. If they mess up, give them a huge fine. If they mess up again, kill the ****er.

Instead of having life in prison without chance of parole, maybe we could "humanly" deal with them. Also it takes somthing like over a million dollars to execute the death penalty because of all the trials you have to go through so you dont accidently execute the wrong person?

I'm not at all a muslim but stoning to death certain types of criminals is a cost effective, humane way of dealing with them.

Daddy's home.
USA is somewhat too strict and the UK are too lenient. In the UK cannabis possession more often than not get's you a fine and/or caution. I'm not sure how many they give before they send them to court. USA just locks them up? No point IMO. If they keep re offending for Cannabis then just have them do shit loads of community service hours. Other, more lethal drugs should give a prison term.

Killers get only a few years, other less serious get's you many more. I don't know how it works. What I would do though is make the prisoners work, like someone said they do in USA. Why not? At least those little kids who get paid 1p/ hour will be grateful they have less work in shitty conditions. Here in the UK prisoners have a better life style than many of the normal citizens. They get T.V's, Games consoles, Gym equipment and so on. Even Paedos and child killers. I wonder how much it costs the UK Tax Payer to house an inmate for a year. Probably more than USA seeing as though they get luxury items people on the outside cannot afford.
