Other suns with planets, of course. each star is a "sun," and many stars in tern have planets. The odds of alien life existing are extremely high: as far as we can see from earth (a radius of 13.7 billion light years), there are billions of galaxies, and in each of those galaxies are billions of stars. that means there are an estimated 1 sextillion (1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) stars in the observable universe. an estimated 5% of all stars have planetary systems so that makes 50 quintillion (50,000,000,000,000,000,000) planets. So yeah, odds are pretty good that there's other life. That said though, there's no proof that there is, so we can't make the assumption that there is.

because the reflection of other surfaces overpowers the light of the stars. the same thing happens if you take a photo of the sky while next to a spotlight
