(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've noticed a lot of you guys here are very much into cars, but the threads where we get good discussions going always get closed; under the terms of "already posted." Well, I am your savior. Here is the thread where we can discuss anything that is related to cars. Things may include but are not limited to: your new ride, a dream car, a picture of a car you recently saw, advice on a car purchase or modification, a new upcoming car, a memory with a car, or just maybe a cool picture of a car you found. I imagine this could be a pretty active thread, as I see myself coming to post in it often.

I will report any and all flames. Let's just respect each other and different ideas.

Have at it! Smile

Enough to not need the Turbo I was thinking about. Winky Winky It's fast as hell, don't even need it. I really didn't expect it to be THIS fast! I plan on fitting a custom exhaust and headers though. Gonna start contracting the people I got quotes from.

"Gonna start contracting the people I got quotes from." Hahahaha. On a side note, do you even need the exhaust? I bet you got enough beautiful sound coming out of that engine.

Yes, on regards to the exhaust. In race mode, the exhaust closes when the throttle is depleted. If you lift off the gas, the exhaust closes. It has to open and close too much, not the best effect. I want fully open pipes when the manettino is flipped into race mode.

My guys at fabspeed can do the whole shabang to get me 630hp & 460ft-lb while saving 24lbs over stock.

Daddy's home.
Nobody likes my car? Page 7? :'(.

Anyhow, how come loads of American teenages have cars that, over here, cost shit loads. M3's will run about 40k and for a teenager to insure will be pretty much impossible or cost more than the car.

Yeah, looks like an early model. Those things put out 600+ hp stock through that v10, beast car.
im not entirely sure on what the price of one now is,my dad got his years ago for 18,000 euro so i would say it would be a little bit cheaper now but not by to much.also seeing that you are from america it would be alot more since euro is a good bit stronger than USD.

Yes!!!!!! Here's a vivid recount of how it went down. Smile

Took the afternoon off of work to drive over to the dealer to see what they would give me for the M3, and try to see what a custom spec would set me back. Nonetheless, I had made a few moves with my banks and brought the checkbook. My friends advised me to bring it so I could place down a deposit on an order; it is accredited to the out the door price if you go through with the purchase once it arrives. I had all the papers, records, receipts, and necessary information to get an appraisal on my M3. I had called them last night to set up a time to come get an appraisal, but unfortunately they told me that there were no 458s available to drive at the dealer. Still wanting the appraisal, I pull into the front of the dealer and park right in the front, right in front of me is a bright yellow 430 Scuderia. My eyes scope the lot, as there are 3 dealers in a row, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini. To my dismay, I do not see a 458 anywhere on the lot. I walk into the showroom to tell the front desk manager that I had an appointment to get my car appraised. She radios another employee, and about a minute later a man wearing a bright red polo with the Cavallino on it shows up. He was a rather elderly man, greets me with a gleaming smile and booming handshake. We introduce ourselves. Before I know it, we're walking out the door towards my car. He asks what kind of records I have, the year, the mileage..lalala, I pop the trunk and hand him the pile of papers I have brought with me. He goes back to his desk so he can run numbers on his computer. I follow him back in, but stay in the showroom and have a good look around at the cars in there. There was an FF, 430 Spider, 360 Challenge Stradale, and a few other beautiful cars. The lady from the front desk treats me to a coffee and asks what car I'm interested in. I compliment the beautiful cars that she has here, but told her I was interested in the 458 Italia. We chat a little about the car, then my man comes back. He invites me to a conference room that overlooks the lot. He presents me with the number (a very pleasing number).

He asks what here interests me at a Ferrari dealer, I tell him that I'm looking to purchase a 458. He says, "Hell, ya wanna drive one!?" I'm a bit confused, I did not see any on the lot and there were none on inventory when I called last night. I'm struck for a moment, then I say, "Didn't think you guys had any?" He replies with two short words, follow me. We go back downstairs then around to the back of the building and then around a corner. He leads me through two large doors that lead to the service bay. Soon as I go through, my jaw hits the floor while contorted into a smile that reaches ear to ear. Right in front of me, only car in the whole huge service building, sits the best looking car my eyes have ever seen. A Grigio Titanio 458. It looked like a complete grey masterpiece, accented by huge yellow brakes and shields. I jog up to it and peer into the interior. All I see is the carbon fiber and the black leather and alcantara racing seats covered in plastic. This car is BRAND new! Nobody has even sat in the seats yet! I turn around to see the man grinning right in front of the doors where we had entered. He tells me that it just came here off the truck this afternoon. The man who had ordered it had chosen to not buy it and to place an order for the 458 Spider. I ask, so I can buy this!? This is the greatest car I've EVER seen! He says let's not get ahead of ourselves and asks if I want to drive it around the block and on the interstate. Why would I refuse? We do all the necessary things to set it up. He throws on the tags and takes off the plastic coverings. He sits down in the passenger seat and says to me, let's take this baby for a spin. I get in the driver's seat, I've driven the 458 before, but am no expert. He gives me the instructions on EVERYTHING, pretty mind boggling. I get the engine running, and nail it to 9,000 a few times. Look over to see him enjoying it as much as I am. I flip it into 1st and with his instructions, get it out ready to pullout onto the road to get to the highway. It's so responsive!!! I keep it pretty slow on this road, then shortly I'm ready to merge onto the highway. It's practically empty. I start to pull out, then gun the accelerator, spin the tires on the exit, burn the rubber, correct my position, then before I know it, I'm at 110. Slowly apply the brake and get it down a notch. I'm amazed once again. After about 10 miles, he asks if I would take it back to the dealership. I turn it around at the next U-Turn and head back. I love how quiet the man is being!

Back at the dealer, in love with the car, I ask if it's for sale. He says, let's discuss a price. Checkbook in hand, we go back up to the conference room. He gives me the sticker to look over, and gives me the option of placing an order for one to my exact specs. I tell him this is perfect! Wouldn't have it any different! The sticker price was outrageous man! But I HAD to have this car. The man who ordered it literally did not skip an option. I open the checkbook and ask what number we're looking at. He picks up a notepad, and I tell him the M3 will be traded. I am getting it for MSRP, which is a great deal! These cars usually go for 20k above sticker if they're bought off the lot, but since it just came in, hasn't costed anything to keep on the lot, and is already a high price, and frankly he likes me, I would get it for sticker. He subtracts the trade, adds in all the fees...etc then has me review the numbers. I nod. I write that number on the check, sign it, and hand it over. We shake hands. We do all the paperwork, deal with insurance, while this is happening, the car is being washed, waxed, and detailed. Once the buying process is over, I drive my new baby off the lot!!!!! Call my wife to tell her about it, she's elated. Then call my man and ask him if he wants to see the new baby! Of course he says hell yes! We meet up for a late lunch. We both get there around the same time, but I park right next to his Carrera GT. I believe my car took all the attention away from his! He's breathtaken, the crowd that gathered is just as so. He looks at my car, up and down, then we go in to eat. We make plans to drive our babies to my place, so he can see it in the flesh. After leading the way home in this amazing machine, we snap a few quick pictures, take some looks, then he's on his way back to his office.

Then I come on NGU to post the pictures and recount of my experience. I'm still at a loss for words. Smile I'm a happy guy.

You Are a very very lucky man. Don't take that car for granted ;-)
May I ask what you do? By the sounds of it you work very hard, or have rich parents Cool Man (aka Tustin)

I'm a Corporate Attorney at a firm that has been in existence for over 100 years, it makes the list for the top 100 firms in the world. Forget what people say about lawyers not making a lot. I also hold the mineral rights to 400 acres of land in rural West Virginia, from this, I get a monthly check in the range of the upper five-figures, to the low six-figures. The land is rich in natural gas, and from the looks of it, it will not be empty for a very long time. On top of that, I'm a good investor, a smart investor.

I don't come from a super rich background, my Dad was the Superintendent of the U.S. Capitol, Senate, House, and Library of Congress in D.C. for many years. He had about a 5,000 employee workforce. My mom was a middle school math teacher for 30 years. I wouldn't say I was rich nor middle class growing up. I was taught the value of the dollar and what a hard day's work meant. I learned how to do many things myself.

Well, what can I say. If I were bringing that in, I think i would collapse the first time I saw the check :L
+I've never heard of Lawyers not getting paid well?
+I Would say Im middle class and upwards. My dad brings in £120k a year, but he doesnt spoil me, that badly. So that I learn the meaning of money.

He grew Up in East London, so he had to learn the hard way, not to waste anything, and dont take anything for granted. I would consider him tight, but like I said, growing up in East London, he uses everything to the maximum level.
Even a bottle of ketchup, he would tip it on its head, unscrew the lid and scrape round it with a knife Cool Man (aka Tustin)

I've read articles where lawyers talk about not making enough to even cover their loans to become a lawyer. I'm 26 and have a brand new Ferrari, they must not be doing something right!
