I have to add some gearheads on my friends list! My PSN is SMW22792. Anyway, let me tell you a little about myself, and what I drive.
My Dad and his brother own a body shop. Because of this, we were able to buy my car smashed and fix it ourselves. It's a 2007 civic si and when we bought it, it needed a front bumper, right fender, rt door, rt quarter panel, and the rear bumper needed to be repaired. After about half a year, the car was finally finished. I bought it for 5800 dollars, and it had 26000 miles on it.
Being a gearhead, the car didn't stay stock for a while. After 2 months, I ordered a k&n short ram intake. I would of went cold air, but hydrolock freaks me out. I couldn't believe how much louder the engine got after the high cam crossover. It really put a smile on my face. After adding the intake, I knew the next thing was to mess with the ECU. A company called Hondata makes a tuning solution called the Flashpro. Very simple to use, and they had a basemap for all basic bolt-on parts. It set vtec to 4500 rpm, and raised the rev limit to 8600.
My birthday came a few months later and I ordered an Invidia q300 70mm exhaust. The q300 is the biggest/quietest exhaust for the 8thgen civics. It's not a fart can style tip, and it sounds stock besides more in-cabin drone. (Which I like

) A few months later I matched the q300 with the matching Invidia header. (No cats) The header did the most for power. With all the parts and a base tune, I made 200whp. After a dyno tune, I was at 212whp. Not too bad for a N/A 4 cylinder. After the tune, vtec was set @ 3800 rpm.
I've also added a Hasport tranny mount because the header was hitting the car from underneath everytime I went to start off. The mount was an easy fix.
After putting about 18000 miles on the car, I have no complaints really. The car has the potential to get 35mpg. The reason I wanted a civic si was because I know they only came in 6-speed manual. I would of had a golf R32 but as fast as the DSG transmission shifted, I wanted a 6-speed.
Plans for next year are swift springs/Koni struts, and Enkei RPF1s. I think I'm going to keep the stock alignment, wheel size, tire size, and wheel offset. If I do anything more to the motor, it starts impacting reliability. Seeing this car is my DD, I think I'm going to keep it like this performance wise. Now it's time for aesthetics.
Oh yeah, I'm not a Honda fanboy. I'm proud of my car, but I don't brag. I respect any kind of car as long as long as it's fast. I like anything: Imports, Domestics, Euro cars, exotics, etc...
