For the higher paying surveys they ask for a cellphone number so they can send u a pin #. So is there something(besides my phone) that i could receive theses texts on?

Why not just use your phone? You can google something for it but i dont know anything that will allow it.

go to like walmart and spend $20 on a at&t pre-paid phone.

I know but buy a go phone with like $15 on it and do it that way. its cheap and easy.

I know that theres this website that gives you a free phone number so that you can send and receive texts but I forgot what it was...

Any more ideas?

if you have a android or a iphone ipod ipad or something like that download a free texting app
i know text plus gives you a real number for people to text you

I'm gonna have to agree on the prepaid cell phone idea. It seems to be the only way because I can't think of anything at the moment.
Perhaps, use IM?? Occasionally my phone is dead and I talk to people (IM to Cell Phone) through IM if I don't have my phone on me. It's basically like texting except on your
computer.
