For the higher paying surveys they ask for a cellphone number so they can send u a pin #. So is there something(besides my phone) that i could receive theses texts on?

Nevermind then I'm not sure my idea will work. Through IM, you can send text messages to any number you want. I don't think you
can send a text to yourself because you don't have a number for IM. Your best bet is to do the prepaid phone idea. It'll save you
the hassle of being spammed with phone calls and its inexpensive.

I just dont wana use my cell phone because sometimes the offers have hidden fees. But i cant use the prepaid cellphone because im looking at making like 20$ here and here and there. So paying 39$ is to big of an investment. I just need to be able to receive a text. I dont need to send anything.

I'd just buy a really cheap phone with a sim car in, Surely you'd make the money back from your P2C thing..
