Example:

"Dude that homework was gay"

In what way was that homework homosexual?
Explain why you say it...To be honest I might say it from time to time, but if you ever hear someone say it, (I do it to people I hate) say; " In what way was that homosexual" and after you have said it more than once, they get really pissed at you.

So why do we say gay to non homosexual ​things? Answer......

No that's not what I said. Don't try to change my post. I meant that when you say "gay" around friends you would think of something along the lines of "That was dumb" before you thought of a male who enjoys other males. "Stupid Society" should not have been directed at me if that is who it was to.

Yep, also don't forget that the original meaning meant "Happy" later associated with homosexuals, thus changing the term gay to a homosexual term. Many times now we don't use the word to call something homosexual, we use it as the term "Stupid, bad, crappy". The definition of the word has 2 common meanings and if you count the original 3 now, just like many other words int he English language.

Gay, within the dictionary should say the following.
1) Happy
2) Homosexual
3) Bad / stupid

Because this is a stupid generation of kids.

Yo idiot, Gay means happy. It was then associated with homosexuals but has taken another change in meaning as stupid, dumb and such. Words can have multiple meanings, depending upon how you use them.

If I walked up to someone and said, that shirt makes you look like a gay, then I am saying it makes you look like a homosexual, now If I say that shirt makes you look gay, it means either two things, depending upon the receiving end, homosexual or stupid.

I wasn't directing that comment at you, I directed stupid society; at society.

Why can't people use a proper word to describe something rather than use a word that may offend some instead, "that shirt looks stupid on you" or "I have so much homework, my teacher is so slack"

People who are gay find it offensive that you use a word that describes who they are as an insult, it's like saying "you are a poynt" and the implied meaning is idiot, do you find that as an appropriate way to describe something/someone?

I'm not going to argue with you, because In fact if everyone on this site stopped using it in that context it wouldn't change "society" at all. And people who are not smart can take offence to stupid, dumb, ect.
