Example:

"Dude that homework was gay"

In what way was that homework homosexual?
Explain why you say it...To be honest I might say it from time to time, but if you ever hear someone say it, (I do it to people I hate) say; " In what way was that homosexual" and after you have said it more than once, they get really pissed at you.

So why do we say gay to non homosexual ​things? Answer......

Fairly sure I do have friends and I do go out of my house a fair bit, actually the reason I am against it, I have a friend who is homosexual and it pisses him off when people use gay to insult someone, I know a post on a forum won't change society, but I'm just making my point and expressing my views, which is what the point of this topic is.

Your friend takes things personal too much. He needs to get over it. Not trying to be mean, just being straight out.

To be honest with you..... Who cares? Honestly? Gay is simply the universal term for something you don't like. For example. If we are going to discuss this then we mine as well, ask why we use all curse words. Another thing like this would be The term "****".

The term "****" means "Sharring of sexual intercourse". Now, why would you say that this thread is "****ing" stupid and pointless? Why would you just say that a thread is stupid? A non living thing can NOT be neither stupid or "****ing". How can an object be "****ing? How can an object be stupid? It's not alive so it's universal.

I could go on and on over this all day long and we can ask "Why do we use that term?" all day, but unlike some people, I have a life and I could actully care less.

I use it to describe some kind of more feminine stuff.

Homosexuality means that a person of one gender is physically attracted to those of the same gender, it isn't just a male thing. :y:

Also, the same reason you heterosexuals don't like a nice ass on a guy. :lol: It's not my fault you're close-minded sexually.

There are some terms that I don't use, simply because I don't feel like it's my place to say them. I do not give two ****s about what someone else says. However, I don't use the N word, or say gay. Simply because for the first it is not my place, and the second because I know that it is pretty offensive, and it's not really necessary to say it. Using gay in place of "shit" or something is implying that gay = shit. Not cool.

It's just a word, same thing goes for every curse word. I question why they are even bad, they are just words.

It depends on the context, I suppose. Every word has a meaning, and if it is used to insult or instigate, then I can understand why there might be an issue (although I personally could care less if someone said "**** you" to me), but if it's just like "what the ****", I see no issue with it. You're just expressing awe in something, and I don't see how that can be offensive.
