Yes. You see, I was watching a news story on CNN I believe yesterday morning and Obama went to Kansas to discuss about lowering the Social Security taxes on paychecks. Well, the working people of course are happy about that, but the Social Security offices was PISSED! lol. That is their income, as well as Social Security has more people on Social Security income such as retired people and non working people, then they do working, so they are already short on money.

Yea, if I heard right they expect that by the time we reach the age to receive it there won't be enough money for us so essentially we luck out of social security by that time. We will be the ones paying but will not receive.

America has something like 1.3 Trillion $'s invested into its military and spends close to 700 billion each year. We do have the most advanced weapons. I mean the Russian main military gun is the AK-47 and gun was was invented for the soul purpose of the "spray and pray" method. Also, we would have the second most powerful country on our side (The UK). And we would most likely have China and our current allies because the only way Russia could attack america is if it went against the UN. Therefore, they would become like Cuba and north Korea and the UN would put a trade embargo on them.
This is all real info, im not a 12 year old nerd who plays cod and thinks its real life

It wouldn't go nuclear. But if it was to, Russia would win. They have more, and they have bigger.
If it was just a straight on fight between the two, without any support from alies, the winner would be determined by the ground it's fought on. Russia would win if America invaded Russia, and vice versa.
Though, if you're not looking for an answer that includes location and just want to know who has the better army - probably America. But I suspect Russia would still win, due to their forces being tough as ****, and basically bad ass mother****ers - willing to die for their (most likely pointless) cause.

I'll tell you why the US lost the Vietnam war. Because it was a loosing war from the start. They pretty much abandoned their troops and hadn't really planned on staying so long in the war. Plus the US was fighting on unknown soil and had absolutely no tactical advantage. They had the worst gun they could possibly have, the M16, which jammed frequently. The AK-47 which the Russians supplied to Vietnam, almost never jammed. As a fun fact, part of the training for the Vietnamese was to drag the AK in sand, and fire it. The AK is a very reliable rifle and the M16 had really just started out, which is why most of our "Modern Day" planes and helicopters and actually just nicer looking types of technology that come from the 70's 80's and 90's. We use technology that is old and reliable, which is why the Russians still use the AK-47. Over time however, the M16 has gotten better, but of course the AK is much easier to use and more reliable.

I like how we are actually having a discussion where the US and Russia would go to war, even though both nations are involved with the UN and whoever struck first would be met with backlash. Let's be honest, this war is unlikely to happen as of right now as the focus is currently on the Middle East and nations such as Syria.
Now, if somehow a war did breakout between Russia and the US, the US would undoubtedly become victorious. Those who are talking about nuclear war have no clue what they're even saying. Neither nation would let it go nuclear as that means they also lose. If you want an example take a look at Israel, which possesses nuclear arms, but doesn't use them against their enemies as it is simply impractical. Instead, a war would more likely result in several skirmishes, political warfare, and maybe some threats.
Once again, if it somehow did go nuclear, which is unlikely, then simply no one wins.
As a response to those talking about the Vietnam war, the reason we lost that was the fact there was little support for the troops and no moral. The war was being fought on weak grounds anyways. We basically were trying to suppress what the people were desiring based on our attack on communism.

Seeing as China would otherwise be going against one of the most powerful military in the world, and the trade between China and the US is worth over $450 billion, and it is estimated that the US owes china over $4 trillion it would be insane for them to attack us. If they did they can say goodbye to ever seeing that debt paid off, to trade, and instead say hello to a hellstorm that could only end in devastation (most likely to both sides).
It makes much more sense the would stay neutral, so they could instead profit from both sides of the war, but if they were forced to pick a side it would be the US as they could hold off Russia easily.

To break the US down for measure:
Army - $244.9 billion
Navy - $149.9 billion, excluding marine corps
Marine Corps - $170.6 billion
Estimated Defense Intelligence - $50 billion
Defense Wide Joint Activities - $118.7 billion
The US spends far more on its military than Russia ever could, in fact it is the highest spender as of date, with the next up being China estimated at $114 billion, over a $500 billion difference.

The USA ranks 2nd in it's military personal. So not only does it have the technological hand, but pure man power as well. The only nation with more active would be China.

As for nuclear weapons, no one wins if it goes nuclear.
