I was recently reading an article about the presidential candidates and I came across something pretty alarming to me. It seems as though all the candidates want to completely disregard a woman's right to choose, and abolish abortion. In fact, Newt Gingrich is going so far as saying he want embryos to have individual rights under the constitution, which would effectively make abortion unconstitutional.

I'd like your opinions in two parts. One on abortion itself and the second being about making embryos have individual rights under the constitution.

My opinions: I personally don't care either way about abortion. I think that it should be left up to the person who's going to get it or not. I do have strong opinions about the rights issue. If an embryo is entitled individual rights, that would mean that all people born after that law goes into effect, would have rights before they turn 18. I honestly don't see that working. Most people I know aren't even mature in their 20's, so a bunch of 11 year olds with individual rights running around? No, bad idea.

I've never really seen the anti-abortion argument, in some cases where the family could not afford a child or similar cases abortion is needed. Some people may say I'm just shittin or whatever but this is a true story, last year I got a girl pregnant (I was 15, so was she) I always used protection and said to myself I would never take the chance of going in without a skin as they say lol, but it was a heat of the moment thing and I was shitting myself for weeks after, when I finally found out I didn't know what to do, I was so scared, she told her mum and she had an abortion. None of my family to this day know what happened, but if it wasn't for abortions my whole life and future would be different, and quite frankly not how I want it. So, I'm - personally Pro-abortion.

Shove it up their vagina and try to get the baby out as quick as you can without hurting yourself.

I think that abortion is wrong. I would like to have it removed from the country. I believe a fetus is a human being from the moment of conception and human life shouldn't be wasted. If you can't afford to have a child, then don't have sex (or at least use good protection). As for women who abort because they were raped, I can understand them not wanting the child because it would bring back too many memories. While that is understandable, it's not fair to the baby to kill them when someone else would be happy to have a kid. Abortion is a waste of life, I think it would be a much better option to carry the baby until birth and then put it up for adoption if you still don't want it. Once again please don't hate as I'm only sharing my opinion..

I agree, it is ridiculous. I think up until the first trimester abortion should be legal, afterwards then it should become illegal as you have been given proper time to abort.

People under the age of 18 essentially have a very limited set of rights, when you reach 18 you gain most and at age 21 gain everything. If they give the fetus rights then what happens if the fetus is a threat to the mothers life and the only way to save the mother is to kill the fetus, if the people kill the fetus then they have just committed murder and if they don't then the mother dies and the fetus most likely goes with it.

They are not thinking of issues like so.

Well your belief is scientifically wrong, literally. I'm sorry but you simply can't argue with fact.



You want to restrict people's rights to have sex if they don't want children? What about people who never want kids, huh? That idea is ludicrous from the very core. In terms of protection, it doesn't always work(though people should be using it anyway).



So because someone else is willing to raise the child you'd like to force a woman through nine months of what can only be described as natural torture, both physically and mentally? Dear oh dear. And at the point of abortion as I said above, it is not a human baby yet.



Again a flawed belief. What about ants? Each time you step on an ant you're wasting life, in-fact you're committing murder. Are you okay with that? What about sperm? What about... you know what, I think you get the idea.
