I will vote for MW3, because MW2 was boring every time you played as Ramirez( Fuk Foley) and to repetitive.
Kill enemies go back, kill again, return to base, go out and protect. That was exhausting. In MW3 playing as the SEALS was fun and playing as Yuri aswell.
MW3 was more action packed, I'm going to quote some members in the forums saying:

-''The campaign is Michael Bay on steroids.''-

I haven't played cod4 but between MW2 and MW3. I'll choose MW3 hands down

I'd vote CoD4, because MW2 was extremly unbalance and MW3, well even though MW2 was unbalanced I like it more than MW3, cause it just felt same shit I had seen in previous games.

Amazing campaigns? Are you joking me? Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare as a series is well know for having a shite campaign with little value. Everyone already knows that the games primary focus is it's multiplayer and the campaign is slapped together last minute.

FPS games with campaigns worth playing are games like Half-Life 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, BioShock, Metro 2033, Crysis, Resistance 3, STALKER... you know, good games.

You should play Borderlands, it has a very good campaign even thought it's usually called as Role-playing shooter.

I've heard good stuff about Boarderlands. To an RPG fan like myself when someone says FPS-RPG that just means FPS that doesn't suck. Generally most FPS-RPGs have so few RPG elements that I consider them FPS's and nothing more, eg. BioShock. The ability to upgrade your character doesn't make a game an RPG, you need to be playing a role in a larger plot where you can get immersed, with customisation or specialisation avaliable to your character/team. Fallout 3 is an FPS-RPG because it feels like it's a proper RPG where you just happen to do a lot of shooting, which is how it should be. Most game designers mess this up.

Unfortunately I find the art-style of Boarderlands to be exceptionally harsh, so much so that it gives me a headache. I'll hopefully get a chance to try it out but I can't see myself ever playing if for more than a couple of hours.
