Discuss.

No it should be illegal because with success there will be failure so even if they do manage to clone a human it more than likely wont live long and will die and i would consider that murder

Whilst I hate the standard "God intended so and so" arguments from my side, I do not support human cloning for the following reasons:
1) We're already reproducing at a much faster rate than we should, why add even more human beings to the world?
2) In accepting the point above, what would be the benefit of cloning human beings? It just seems like an ability people in power would abuse.

I am okay with modifying ourselves similar to the way in which you do in Deus Ex: Human Revolution though, even if that draws up numerous problems many of which are actually handed or shown to you in the game itself.

Cloning, while it can be a very useful thing in some aspects, its negative effects outweigh the positive.

I agree entirely with Clutch Hunterr and just want to add that we already are at a loss to provide food for a lot of people, the world's population is expanding at an exponential rate that we don't need to contribute to, and there is always *ALWAYS* room for fault.

There's going to be some error in the clone, rendering it useless, such as a low-life expectancy, some condition that causes it to come out with not all organs, or some other thing.

TV shows and movies make it seem like such a great thing to have and use at your will (do your homework, clean, build, etc) but it's going to be just like having another child, that is exactly like you, but could rise up against your will to harm you. You will never have full control over your clone.

Cloning means making a genetically identical copy of yourself... through sexual reproduction Not Happy or Sad. It's not like they put you in a machine and laser your body, push a few buttons and a new thing comes out. here's a picture Smile

Another thing to note: if you still think this would be immoral or something think of it this way. The human and the clone are identical twins except they have an enormous age difference. Identical twins are technically clones of eachother

I say make a copy of me, put him in a freezer for ever, and cut him open in the event that I need some spare parts. Then again, who are we to play God?
