Post: Major Airline Scam

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey, I have a problem and since I know some people here are into the law type of thing so I though maybe you can help me.

Well, We bought a ticket for one of our uncles to come over the the US.
When he got to the plane check in , they told him their was no space on the plane for him to get on and that he would have to buy another ticket for the next day since it was one flight a day.
It was a buisness trip and we had to buy another ticket so he can come, since he had to be at a certain place at a certain time.
We then called the company and told them what happened.
I spoke to over 3 managers/supervisors and over 4 regular support people.
All of them hung up on me and left me on hold.
I had been on the phone on hold for over 1 hour.

Is their anything I can do?
We called the bank but they said we have to wait till the actual payment is charged (which it was already)
When I also spoke to the support supervisors, they said that he wasn't on time.
I don't remember where on the website it said "They have to be their 3 hours before" , but it actually said 2 hours, my uncle was their over 2 hours early.

The airline is Volaris

To be honest, I wouldn't call this a scam, but I think the airline is too embarrassed to say they over booked.

They don't want to refund me either. That is the problem. They left 4 people at the airport. (Including my uncle)

Airlines are known to oversell because say I buy a ticket in 6B you can also get that same ticket. Now say I don't show up then you get to sit there. Airlines always oversell.

So any way to get my money back?

Yeah, I'm not quite sure what you could do about that. :/ What's the name of the Airline? I would say the only chance you have if your bank and the airline company don't cooperate would be to get a lawyer and see if you can get the thing settled.

But then you run into the problem of if they are a pretty decent airline they're most likely going to have much better lawyers and you may not get what you want. I'm sorry you had this happen to you. :(

All airlines over book, but you got to make sure the ticket was a confirmed seat. If it was a confirmed seat and you weren't allowed on the plane you're guaranteed a refund, if it wasn't a confirmed seat the person would most likely go on a later flight. Either way he shouldn't have bought another ticket.
