(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok so this thread is basically you guys telling everyone your jobs if you want to and also choices you've had to make e.g one job or another.

I guess i'll start:

Ok so i'm in year 10 now and need to start thinking about what I want to do when i'm older as i need to think if i want to go to 6th form or College.

So these are my two choices:

1)
Go to Sixth form and take A-Level Biology and some others that will help me get a job in the NHS as a paramedic or nurse.
As I find saving people and helping people is a good job and stuff like that interests me, but if i do go to train as a nurse, on top of the two-years at sixth form i will need to go to university to study nursing and do a course for 4 years ( my sister is in her 3rd year of training to be a nurse now and she really enjoys it as when you reach your 2nd year you start getting placments working in hospitals and actually doing practice on real people and working on wards and A&E etc.....

2)
Leave school next year (end of year 11) and go to college get an apprenticship in plumbing and help my dad in his buisness he does bathroom, kitchen tiling and fittings such as sinks, toilets, baths, showers etc... and when i finish the apprenticeship i will have a job guranteed it's quite a hard choice for me as both are very good pay jobs.

So please feel free to discuss your choices and jobs and what you think i should choose!

Thanks.

On Friday last week i got told by my Form Tutor that Year 10's and below have to stay in full time education until they're 18, it was going to be Year 9's however some of the SLT's (Senior Leadership Team) were talking to the person from the government that checks every students attendance and they got told that the government looked into it and made a final decision however i'm not 100% sure my school maybe trolling us stare.

No it is true! But you can leave when you're 16 as long as you go into some sort of training, college or apprenticeship! Smile

Frankly, I'm not sure how it is over in the UK but in the US if you have a guaranteed job as a plumber...you go for it. The pay is pretty good and if it's your fathers business that's another plus. With that being said, there is a huge difference in being a paramedic and being a plumber so it's also dependent on what you are actually interested in and wouldn't mind doing every day.

Good luck with getting the job though. Will be good when you finish serving in the military you'd be able to become a fire fighter if you wanted to. It's something that crosses my mind every once in while what I'd do if I get in and finish serving, Fireman or Police.

Thanks man. Yeah I come from Yorkshire as well. I'm not too bothered about moving away as long as I keep in touch with mates. Thing is though I'd meet a lot more mates who'd become very good friends if you know what I mean. I hated PE. I was put with all the ****s that passed the balls between themselves and didn't give anyone else a chance. I used to play rugby but then I stopped for some reason and that was it for fitness. Kind of regret it now though knowing what I want to do. All I do now is hit the gym everyday to build up fitness. It's working, slowly. I'm kind of the same. I don't think I could do an office job. I prefer to do something than sit and write all day answering phones, but hey, if I get a job in that I'll be doing it for the money and concentrate on my fitness.
