(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Am I the only one getting this feeling that the forum has been feeling somewhat dead in the last couple of months, it has those days where a lot of people are on and then its having those periods of time where there is, what it seems, no real activity....

(Also, to kinda prove my point, I doubt that by Friday this thread will have 30+ comments from different individuals telling me I am right or wrong).

I won't include myself. This is pretty good but I can tell you, about half the people here are people who are constantly on and I only set the bar 1/3 higher than the amount shown here. This is just a little test myself and for everyone else. I don't want to see another forum die, honestly I like NGU too much, although I don't agree with everything it does, it's a great forum. The moment a forum shows that it is dying, the chances of a full recovery is left up to chance, as time passes and new games are released, if people notice that the activity on a forum is decreasing, their incentive to join or remain active is less.

That is bad...

I'm not trying to be mean but, we have Media Team and yet I don't really see a whole lot of "Media" being passed on through the site, hell the video on the forum has remained the same for some time. I thought we were going to have videos every week, even one video a week shows life. The news, I hate to say it but "Link -> Find it here" and then lead us away from the thread is something I hate. I thought that Outsider had given the ability to link that thread with the CMS News Page so we can comment here and it shows up there?

It doesn't look too great when we do that.

Programming tutorial and Gaming tutorials:

I see some life in the gaming tutorials, I think if there was a submission feature for users to submit where the Media Team who specializes in gaming tutorials can look and review would be fantastic.

Programming Tutorial = Blow. Just admit it, no new content is really ever posted, not even snippets.

Yea, I've added to this but it is how I feel...

I know, I've been here for a little over a year, I used to be apart of a couple other forums before I joined racking up thousands of posts on each site but eventually being banned because of corrupt moderators. Aside from that, I noticed that NGU gets people to join who are great to talk to and then suddenly they all leave and the site gets left alone and it keeps having its ups and downs but the downs are becoming more and more common.

There are so many people that I miss talking to on here simply because they have left. Hell, there were a few mods that I absolutely loved talking to but they stepped down and basically don't really go on here at all anymore or got themselves banned because they don't care.

You can get the content on this site elsewhere earlier... If you want game news people can go to sites like IGN or wait for it to pasted over here... Some premium content can be found fairly easily in open sections of other websites too.

Yep, and some of the stuff posted here is paraphrased information of paraphrased information.

Another part of it is that of course its warm outside, and most people are spending more time outside than on the forums (excluding the hermits).

And of course the lack of releases does some impact as well, but we shouldn't be depending on releases to get us to come on the site, people should come here for the community. I mean, life is what you make it, and this website is exactly what you make of it.

I see a lot of members say they're 'OG' and have been around since the 'good' days, well if you're a part of this community then you should step up to the plate, make some good threads, do some general posting around the forum, and do your part to keep this community alive. Threads saying the site is dead is doing nothing but give one person the satisfaction in deeming the site dead, and they get the satisfaction of everyone hopping on the bandwagon and saying its dead because its what everyone else is doing. This is why the site goes up and down so much. And ex-staff bashing the site and staff left and right doesn't help either.

From a moderators standpoint, I do see the decrease in activity but I see a lot of effort from the staff trying to make it more active, but the members are dragging their feet and not trying to help solve the problem.

Members make the forum.

Right now it may be, but you look over the last couple of months, a thriving forum with a weeks worth of downtime would be back up to where it used to be within a month, a forum that appears to be dying is one that has less and less people coming on and posting/making new threads and if after a downtime, they are not coming back as much.

Yea, I understand it's summer and people want to have fun, as do I, but it doesn't stop me from coming on here and having a discussion, only problem is is that there really isn't a lot of people remaining active to have a discussion except those like myself and you moderators who come on here daily regardless.

Yeah I've been feeling it, but everytime anyone speaks up it gets closed. And they make bullshit stats up. It's because the forum is becoming filled with just regular premiums who contribute nothing. Winky Winky

See you hit the nail right on the head. Saying that though, most complain about it, but do nothing and wait for staff to fix everything.

Yea, I too have noticed that. What I have noticed as well is the fact that we have 200 people online, for a forum with the amount of sections as we have, there ought to be some here and there but it seems like a good portion of them are just lurking now taking in whatever they can.

It's something that I have been feeling about this site, it's a feeling that comes up and goes away and then comes up and goes away; when something is like that, you know something is wrong. I don't have any analytic stats to provide about the site and to trust other site monitors isn't the best thing to do because they are not monitoring a site 24/7, there are high and low times and they can't hit a site 240 times a day.

I try and post in threads that people make, I try my best to formulate a well constructed sentence that keeps a conversation going, if I can but I know something has possible life left in it, I generally quote someone to entice them to comment back; this brings back a flow of comments.

Yea, what I don't understand is why not just discuss more about games, tricks and such for the different games out there. What I don't like is that this site doesn't have discussions for newer games like Max Payne, Diablo 3 ect. I think if new sections were made for those games and more were to be added, it would drive people to discuss. Group the whole gaming together.

I honestly think something like that might actually help, it goes to show that even though this is a COD forum, people will grow tired of a series and people are getting tired of the COD series, they don't like it because there is no change, Battlefield set a new standard and it seems like COD just isn't able to match it.

More diversity in a gaming forum is better than one solid game subject to be based around because if that subject crashes, everything else falls.

This thread is so true, I only see the same users online every time. Buying premium is pointless as nothing is even in them forums

What'd you mean activity is low? Happy

There are 746 online right now and it's 3:18 in the UK (most of the kids are in school) and about 10 in the US.
