Torture to just induce pain is pointless. Done with finesse though is a time tested tool of persuasion, but rather barbaric, and should only be used as a last resort.

I think we should have torture. I believe in an eye for an eye. If you slowly murdered somebody, than you should be murdered the same way. But that's just me Winky Winky And people who are against torture, are most likely against abortion too :dumb:

That's not true at all. We kill the fetus, we do not allow the baby to be born and then torture it to death.

Torture is a pointless thing to do. If you are going to kill someone, do it quickly. There is no point in pouring more taxpayers money for the purpose of torture. I am a believer in the death penalty penalty and abortion, but torture is useless. I don't see how abortion and torture are linked at all.

Torture would be done only to show other people what will happen to you if you do the crime, but the death penalty is sending them the same message. Granted, torture may send a harsher method however it's barbaric and is a waste of time, effort and money.

It was a childish statement to make. I apologize, I have strong views towards both. I think the fact of the matter is, have you had a loved one been murdered before, I have? It does change your views, and people are like it's cruel, I personally don't think it's cruel. That's the connection I made to abortion. If you get what I'm trying to say?

putting people in prison is bad enough.

Public torture would be ok, but people would get the wrong idea and think its ok if they do it and then we will be back in the middle ages Smile

Torture as a punishment is just wrong. Whatever the person has done, it makes you just as bad as them. The only time I can see a need for torture is to prevent things like terrorism. Let's say you're in a room with a guy who knew that the 9/11 planes were heading for the twin towers, surely it would have been worth torturing him to save all those lives.

If it's in the constitution it MUST be correct! It also states you are given the right to life, if another breaks it, why can't we? Personally, I'd prefer killers to rot in jail, no chance of parole or getting out ever. Thinking, every moment, about how they fucked up.
