Alright so in this thread I will be talking about my time being here on NextGenUpdate. So where should I start? I'll start when I joined. Well it started back on my Ps3 days when Cod4 and WaW were huge. I was playing search and destroy on Cod4 when all of sudden I got killed by somebody flying around in the sky. I was like what the fuck how is he doing that so I can't remember how but I ended up somewhere on the internet was either youtube or google but I tried to type in a search that would go along with it and I believe I found Ngu. So I signed up and got the method and to tell you the truth if anybody remember how easy it was to the the ufo hack thing on Cod4 with the usb it literally took me like an hour with a couple tries to figure it out believe it or not lol. I then found you could do even more hacks with the usb offline on cod4 and do even more fun mods with it and stuff. But then finally my Ps3 blue ray laser took and shit and didn't get it fixed till like 6 months later. And that is the time when I fully started my ngu active duty I would call it lol.

So I started getting active in the community and had some stupid bumps in the road but who doesn't? I think I got infracted for rep boosting 1 time and a couple other stupid shit but I am an example on why people deserve 2nd chances and should not be looked down on the stupid shit they did. No 3rd chances etc.. just a 2nd chance and if you fuck up after that you're done. I started to get to know more and more people etc.. Played games on the consoles and got talking to outie on aim etc.. when he was able to get on started to get to know each other and seeing from his point of view I really cared about ngu and boom I became staff in June of 2010 and becoming more with the community etc.. and working my way up through the ranks and finally becoming admin in oct. of 2011.

Alright so that was basically my journey story or something along those lines but now we get down into the nitty gritty. It feels as if back then people actually cared on the site and now hardly anybody does. Like a select few and others are like fuck it. Back then it feels like there was a push that made people want to do more and more because everybody cared and worked together. Back in my time mod stats actually mattered and you would not even have to warn anybody for being to low. shit I think everybody was pretty high in the ranks and actually had mod stats wars to see who was #1 etc but was a friendly competition in the end. This is when all staff got along and there was something like idk what I would call let's call it a "PUSH" that made everybody want to put in some effort into the whole site. there was even a push to mod the forums even when you had enough and you knew you had enough stats or whatever to be fine for the next months. There was so many caring people I could not even believe it and we all worked together on projects and shit and everybody got along. Nobody went off and did there own little secret shit bla bla and got everybody into it so everybody felt together and wanted to do more. shiver, gobble, enzo, rjive, paul, battman, jim, shit the list could go on with ex-staff on people that cared and wanted to help even more but released it was starting to get to why and I doing this anymore since nobody else really started to not care?

I remember when shiver deleted himself or should I say AlphaMudafuckinDenver (holy shit first smiley used in this thread dayumm) but yeah people thought this was a joke as it was by April fools days but I kid you not he came into the modbox like a G and posted this song right here: and deleted himself like a bad ass. Now I don't know about you but that shows you how bad it go at that point of time and how much it took to wake up the owner himself. Shit I would call that the ngu melt down of "2011". A couple more staff members left I believe and shit just got bad. f33l made a thread and even people posted on outie's wall with like 10 scrolls of visitor messages or whatever you would call it. It was all just bad togehter but lucly things started to get ok again but you know you know...

It just feels like there is so many wanna be trolls here and just fuck shit up for the rest of us. Or to many I don't give a fuck people. Back in the day you were respect even on staff you were respect I think it's kinda all a big joke now. Some staff joining along in the bullshit that goes on and then says why is this place like this now. Well hurr durr I wonder why. If you got staff acting like a joke then the members see it and it spreads almost lets call it like a virus. Oh he can do that then I can do that. You gotta think like 80% of this community is teenagers including myself but you got most of then that will be copy cats and do the same shit you do. Then you go ban people/guest them whatever and people start rebeloins over that and shit goes down etc... rep was fuckin awesome before it got changed. It almost made you feel like a bad ass to have respect etc.. since nobody negs you you could fuck up their shit if they do etc.. or help them out a shit load with rep bla bla.

Man I know I will be forgetting a shit load in this thread but I'm trying to think about all the stuff I know well the big stuff I guess to put in this thread but if I have more stuff to add I might just make another thread or edit this but this is getting kinda long I guess lol. But yeah back then it felt like there was push/urge to do more and everybody was just happy to work together and 1 whole team unlike now I would call it. I mean I have had my own thoughts on making my own site and shit etc after I retired and shit but now that I think about it is why? I already belong to this big community why not stay here and try to make shit better or something? Anything helps I guess but still. Gonnna need alot of duck tape here I guess. But I shall stay here and fix things etc.. You get my flow. :p

We need to do something to put this place back in over drive or should I say poppin like it was back in the days that it was good. It happened before and I'm pretty sure if everybody puts their minds to it then we all could make it happen. I mean shit we can even put a video up on the ngs channel without it getting tons of dislikes? Some bs I call that. We all have to work together to make shit happen and I can see that happening. So I had a couple ideas that came to mine and shit so here it goes.

We need to spread stuff out. And I mean go big or go home! Let's do some new domains that focus on other forums Idea different things.. Maybe like a computer discussion site etc... but all the domains would always bring linked back to the main site which is here ngu. I mean we are the next gen updates site arn't we? the next big generating or all updates etc.. We gotta expand stuff and get new people and who knows maybe if they join one site they will come to ngu and spark a lil gaming in them or something. Try something new. When there is no glitches hacks or something then you gotta move on with something else but still keep it. You never know until you try it right? Life is like a box a chocolates you never know what you gonna get right?

Well I can't believe I just typed all this up lol this is crazy (and I just met you can I get ya numba?) :p anyways if you guys want to get into a movement to make this place better again etc... then hell yeah let's goooo! any ideas post below. remember 1 idea can go far.

I probably forgot a couple things but like I said above maybe 2nd part or something but for now that is it and I hope you guys read it even though how fuckin long this is but yup.

Didn't read it all but I did scan it though and what I read I like and on the subject about different domains since were "NextgenUpdate" I agree 100% and have always stated that this site cater to much to COD. I know Outie started this site off COD but it has grown to so much more so treat it as such more. Ign has Games , Tv shows , Comics , Movies etc and we can gave something similar , have different people who like doing certain things on them , people start writing good reviews and so forth and NGU might be invited to do Interviews for Future games , comic-con , the possibilities are endless and in the last year I like how it has grown with the BF side but I have been asking for a dedicated BF section since BFBC2 and things like REP prestiging (I know their gone) was catering too much in my opinion to COD.

But I'm with you , This site used to be good for discussion and making teams and partners. Most of My Ps3 friends are people I have met on here. I have had my problems with certain staff and have also been banned but having a conversation with a certain Admin I was given another chance and even talked into Donating to become Premium and it just leaves me yearning for what used to be. I used to get leaks of Premium Section back in 2010 and it used to be worth to donate now I /facepalm myself whenever I'm in that section.

i think the mods dont care. i make a thread... and get called a faggot by numerous people and others thank them for it. i am in no way a jerk to anyone. i am not in any inner circles. so i guess everyone sticks together. but to see the mods allow this BS of letting members insult other members openly should not get a pass, by no means. i seriously doubt anyone would call me a faggot to my face in real life.

i didn't know there were "rules" to creating a thread. but for him to say "more thoughtful posts"???? a lot of the threads are pointless and i post mines in the general forums. it seems as if no one has a sense of humor on this site. but that's just me talking out loud.

the staff needs to tighten up. i bought premium to this site and i'm an active member but the way people act on here kinda makes me wish i didn't donate.

We take this website so seriously because it's more than just a website, it's being successful and knowing we've accomplished something through our hard work and dedication.

Some of us have given a lot to the site, and it's something you can't just drop, and it's horrible to see how some things have ended up.

I am not fond of the way people are treated, but maybe if you typed with better grammar and spelling, people will not troll you as much. Honestly, typing like this doesn't make you necessarily look good. No offense. Also, if you contribute and post useful things instead of stupid picture, people might enjoy your company more.

Pretty damn long story Reaper but anyways I remember joining in late 2009 when everyone was a big family. (yes this is not my first account) Now NGU is complete shit. I used to come on here and chat in the shoutbox before it was removed then brought back and check on some trending topics. Now I just come here and see members bashing other members.. This site was ruined I would say when the 3.55 CFW came and all the little Dick and Hairys started to join but hey i'm still active I don't think I will ever leaver this site. Sorry for my bad grammar.

Alright, I haven't been here as long as Reaper or any of the OG's. But I can tell there has been quite a large shift in NGU. When I originally joined, staff seemed very different. They were very active, even in dealing with threads. Even throughout my experience here, I enjoyed staff interaction, whether it be the weekly updates, movie nights, or whatever. Knowing the staff actually cared about the site impacted how users responded.

Now staff, at least some, seem to think little to nothing has gone sour. When bringing up that NGU wasn't what it was, or it's going downhill, far too often a staff member will just mention how many members registered today. In a business sense it isn't dropping massively, but from a community sense it is. Staff seem to have come and gone like crazy over the past year. All the ways members kept up to date with what staff were doing is dead. And now, to be honest, the GD has turned to shit. It isn't humorous as it was, or semi-serious, or even as intriguing.

Obviously, without some type of solution this would just be rambling, so these are some actions I think would benefit NGU as a whole:
1. Bring back weekly updates, or even every other week (in order to collect more news).
2. Have a movie night, or game night, or something to keep the community closer. As of right now, without the shoutbox I would hardly know any members on NGU at this point.
3. I'm not pointing fingers at staff, but staff seems so different than it used to. Staff members no longer make sometimes complex high quality posts as they did. It makes staff seem to almost be on par with normal users most of the time (minus admins, and supers for the most part).
4. Higher quality threads. This is also a user need. There needs to be better threads, or better posts. Just because forum activeness is up doesn't mean it's positive.

As for other dilemnas, I can't say too much as of right now :/

I have made a group (with TBR) to try and unite members together so we can make a change. Adminstrators may not listen to a single individual, but if people start standing up and working together and suggesting things, then change may just happen.
