Area 51/Groom Lake

Area 51 is a military base on the southern shore of Groom Lake. The base's primary purpose is undetermined, however it appears to support development and testing of experimental aircraft and weapons systems. The facility is not a conventional airbase, as frontline operational units are not normally deployed there. It instead appears to be used for highly classified military/defense Special Access Programs, which are unacknowledged publicly by the government, military personnel, and defense contractors. Its mission may be to support the development, testing, and training phases for new aircraft weapons systems or research projects. Once these projects have been approved by the United States Air Force or other agencies such as the CIA, and are ready to be announced to the public, operations of the aircraft are then moved to a normal air force base. The intense secrecy surrounding the base, whose very existence the U.S. government did not even acknowledge until 14 July 2003, has made it the frequent subject of conspiracy theories and a central component to unidentified flying object (UFO) stories. Area 51 is where they tested many aircraft such as the U-2, X-15, OXCART, D-21, and the F-117.

UFO and other conspiracy theories

Its secretive nature and undoubted connection to classified aircraft research, together with reports of unusual phenomena, have led Area 51 to become a focus of modern UFO and conspiracy theories. Some of the activities mentioned in such theories at Area 51 include:
The storage, examination, and reverse engineering of crashed alien spacecraft (including material supposedly recovered at Roswell), the study of their occupants (living and dead), and the manufacture of aircraft based on alien technology.
Meetings or joint undertakings with extraterrestrials.
The development of exotic energy weapons for the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) or other weapons programs.
The development of means of weather control.
The development of time travel and teleportation technology.
The development of unusual and exotic propulsion systems related to the Aurora Program.
Activities related to a supposed shadowy one world government or the Majestic 12 organization.
Many of the hypotheses concern underground facilities at Groom or at Papoose Lake, and include claims of a transcontinental underground railroad system, a disappearing airstrip nicknamed the "Cheshire Airstrip", which briefly appears when water is sprayed onto its camouflaged asphalt, and engineering based on alien technology. Publicly available satellite imagery, however, reveals clearly visible landing strips at Groom Dry Lake, but not at Papoose Lake.
Veterans of experimental projects such as OXCART and NERVA at Area 51 agree that their work inadvertently prompted many of the UFO sightings and other rumors.
The shape of OXCART was unprecedented, with its wide, disk-like fuselage designed to carry vast quantities of fuel. Commercial pilots cruising over Nevada at dusk would look up and see the bottom of OXCART whiz by at 2,000-plus mph. The aircraft's titanium body, moving as fast as a bullet, would reflect the sun's rays in a way that could make anyone think, UFO.
They believe that the rumors helped maintain secrecy over Area 51's actual operations. While the veterans deny the existence of a vast underground railroad system, many of Area 51's operations did occur underground.
Bob *****
see: S-4 (facility) for further information
Several people have claimed knowledge of events supporting Area 51 conspiracy theories. These have included Bob, who claimed in 1989 that he had worked at Area 51's "Sector Four (S-4)", said to be located underground inside the Papoose Range near Papoose Lake. Bob has stated he was contracted to work with alien spacecraft that the U.S. government had in its possession.
Bruce ******
Similarly, the 1996 documentary Dreamland directed by Bruce ******* included an interview with a 71 year old mechanical engineer who claimed to be a former employee at Area 51 during the 1950s. His claims included that he had worked on a "flying disc simulator" which had been based on a disc originating from a crashed extraterrestrial craft and was used to train US Pilots. He also claimed to have worked with an extraterrestrial being named "J-Rod" and described as a "telepathic translator".
Dan *********
In 2004, Dan ******** claimed to have worked on cloning alien viruses at Area 51, also alongside the alien named "J-Rod". Dan's scholarly credentials are the subject of much debate, as he was apparently working as a Las Vegas parole officer in 1989 while also earning a PhD at SUNY.[64]

My question to you is what is your opinion of all the conspiracy theories? Do you think there really is all this stuff the goverment isnt telling us?

For me i think there is things the government isnt telling us. Ive seen things in the sky I cant describe (long story) an i gotta say. its one of those things that you have to see to belive. i used to think people who believed in aliens an conspiracy theories were making up stories for attention. But now im a true believer

I think if an alien space ship crashed on Earth we would know about it. People would see it, and it could land anywhere. How could the US government would find them all or even one and be able to hide it? I don't believe they have anything.

To put it into perspective; there's approximately 200 billion stars in the milky way galaxy and well over 500 billion galaxies in the known universe.. This would equal out to 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars in the universe. One can assume that each star has a solar system and each solar system has more than 2 planets in it's orbit. If you average the values and calculate it out, it equals a metric fuck-ton of planets. So yes, I believe there's life out there somewhere.

i think area 51 is only one of many cover up spots. i believe in the less populated areas the government hides the rest of the stuff. like they wouldn't hide anything in the north because the population is way to large so they pick the country areas in the south. why else do you think theres so much land there that isnt built on? people have the money to buy and build i just think the government put something in place to restrict them from doing so, due to the fact they could be working under all of those large areas of land.

im from the north but i go down south every few summers and at night its just creepy and pitch black outside.

i think its to keep it from leaking to other countries. we want the newest technology an newest nuclear power to threaten other countries from attacking us.
