As for the calories I mentioned, it depends entirely on your weight and activity level.

For someone whom is my height and weight (5'10" and 150lbs) working out for 1-2 hours a day lifting plus an otherwise moderately-active life style (Stood up work, walking around, moving things, cleaning or anything really) your maintenance calories would be around 3000 calories a day BEFORE you put in any cardio you do on top.

Remember, just by sitting at home doing nothing you burn ~1800 calories (average man) just by being alive.

My advice to you is that if you tried doing 1000 calories worth of cardio day in and day out you'd be knackered and it'd be detrimental to you, the best thing I can suggest for you would be:

1) Eat at a 500 calorie deficit.

That means work out your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) and then add the calories from your daily movements on it, there are calculators on the net for this.

2) Work out such that you burn ~500 calories 4 days a week.

That means, the workout combined with the deficit would set you at 5,500 calories a week, when you add the "overburn" from cardio (the calories you burn after cardio due to increased metabolic rate) you're easily looking at 7,500+ calories a week which will result in at least 2lbs a week of weight loss.

HUGE workout sessions like what you did (1000 cals in a day) really aren't designed for the average man trying to lose weight, what you want is consistent cardio/lifting with CONSISTENT weight loss that is totally sustainable, don't mess about with doing 7 days of 1000 calorie burns and expect 3lbs to come off because you will lose MORE but YOU WILL LOSE MUSCLE, NOT FAT.

The key to losing fat effectively is doing it slowly and safely, 2lbs a week, every week is better than losing muscle every week because you are over training.

I'd recommend that you do some walking/cycling but also do some version of "Starting Strength", if you Google that roughly the 3rd/4th result down is the novice/beginner Starting Strength programs and that combined with 2/4 cardio days a week will get you set on a good cut that will see the fat dropping off you.

Cheers! Smile.

I appreciate the great advice, will follow your advice. I totally forgot about the calories we burn just by being alive Smile Thanks I will definitely follow your advice and look into those strength programs. Thanks.

Well you say it's a 2 hour walk, why don't you cycle it? Other then that, without a gym you can do stuff at home. Push ups, sit ups you don't need any equipment for them. You can get two chairs and do dips. As for cycling, change up your route and it wont get boring. You can also do running, by changing up your route. Starting a fighting sport will help get you in shape too. Spending time out of your house will stop you eating junk food.

I love sports but only play them rarely. Like football (soccer) i play twice a week max. I uesd to to 3 sports a week but because my parents got promoted/new jobs i could bot get to them so i had to quit. That was along time ago now and since then i just got lazy and got bigger year by year!

Sometimes you have to just run. Running is seriously great conditioning. Running will shed some weight off you, build up your wind, increase speed. You do not need any equipment to run (besides an iPod Smile ). Weight lifting and sports will get you in shape but if you run for like half an hour to an hour a day, you will get in great shape.

Also, if you have the chance to swim, DO IT! Swimming will do everything that running will and give you a solid core (abdominal muscles). Just swim laps and you will be in great shape as well.

i wouldn't lift weights yet just to warn you because if you do it while your young it stops you from growing when you get older thats why you see alot if older people in their 30's big and its hard for them to lose it most likely because when they were teens they were gym buffs lifting weights. any one can correct me if i'm wrong.

First you need to lay off the unnecessary food and try to lose some pounds by jogging or doing some other common exercises.. Then when you felt like you lost some weight go tell your mom or dad you need to get a membership to the gym and get a ride because you don't want to be the fat kid in school.

Motivation quote: No matter if you can't do it, remember your beating everyone laying on the couch.

I found that on iFunny, but thought it was actually a good quote, forgot exactly how they sentenced it, but Winky Winky

Losing weight is pissy easy, I lost over 120 LBS in around 11 months, no bs. Here is some things which will help you..

1- Create a list of what your body prevents you from doing

2- Imagine how will people treat you differently after you lose weight

3- Sign up on BodyBuilding.com

4- Don't strave yourself, just eat a deficit of 500.

5- Sign up at your gym for one year, why? When you pay for a year, you will go, because if you don't, "you will feel like wasting your money". Pick an expensive gym too if you can. It helps 100%.

6- Let your friends know about it, and nah no through social sites, just be like I'm losing weight soon. It will make you go gym/cut, or otherwise you will look as a phaggot in front of them.

7- Make it a life style

Lastly..

Looking for Workout/diets on a gaming forum is a wrong place, like I told you head over to BodyBuilding.com, it's an amazing site with tons of help/workout/meals. Keep us updated OP. :y:
