I love my kitteh
I don't think any hacker is famous. Not enough people know the names of specific "hackers". If anything most likely geohot because he was the starting point really of ps3 mods/hacks. And on Xbox I don't know anyone.

I would agree that hunter128 is a very well-known modder/hacker. Also TheUnk0wn too. Im sure ive heard that they've worked together on some things. Back in the day when all the squeekers were trying to get into MW2 challenege lobbys, I used to hear my friends talking about how they want to get into one of TheUnkn0wn or hunter128's challenege lobbys.

Do a barrel roll!
Yeah I remember hunter128 was very popular when it came to MW2 hacks. Gehot is probably most famous though considering he was on the news and shit because of the Sony lawsuit.

Geohot, and of course Anonymous, but they're a group so it doesn't really count as one hacker. TheUnkn0wn is the best modder around here, i don't know if he's that known anymore though since he's never active.

Treasure hunter
Xorloser, geohotz continued an exploit found by him, all the others mentioned (consoles) are modders,

Real hackers get in, get out, and leave no trace, the ones that get caught, or brag are shit hackers, like baby's learning to walk "look what I can do..."

The DTRA is an agency of the Department of Defense charged with reducing the threat to the U.S. and its allies from nuclear, biological, chemical, conventional and special weapons. The backdoor he created enabled him to view sensitive emails and capture employee usernames and passwords.

James also cracked into NASA computers, stealing software worth approximately $1.7 million. According to the Department of Justice, "The software supported the International Space Station's physical environment, including control of the temperature and humidity within the living space." NASA was forced to shut down its computer systems, ultimately racking up a $41,000 cost. James explained that he downloaded the code to supplement his studies on C programming, but contended, "The code itself was crappy . . . certainly not worth $1.7 million like they claimed."

Sorry but everyone else thinks that people like derektrotter, or elite mossy are hackers. They are not. They are modders/scripters. They didnt hack into anything. James did. you cant get a XBOX HACKER that would involve using a xbox to hack something, Hacking is gaining unauthorized access to something that potentially can get you the jail. Modding, Doesnt get you the jail (Xbox, ps3 modding)

He was asking about games, there was no need for a copy/paste.

Jonathan James had nothing to do with console or game hacking, modding ect. And I just thought I would let you know your definition of "hacking" is a bit off. There are plenty of hackers that do things legally and by the rules. Not all hacking gets you in jail.
