I have always assumed that time travel would one day be possible, but not in my lifetime, or even my kids lifetime. But I came upon an actual video that a guy has actually created one(a time machine), just not like TV and movies portray them to look.
I can't help but think that this has to be somewhat realistic. And it got me thinking to what people would be able to do with this, whether bad or good.
So do you think time travel is realistic? Or if not now with today's technology, but in the near future?
BTW, HackForums couldn't take this seriously worth a shit...at least watch the video and see what I'm talking about.
My one question is, if someone says they're from the future, aren't they technically in the present for their own time? Expanding, I'm trying to say with time travel, it's basically saying the entire planet has already went through past, present, future, and the end. So it'd be liking going through different chapters of a book. Weird.
only possible to go forward if we somehow learn how to move faster that the speed of light which is impossible
Not impossible, just not possible now. There have been shipped designed to take in atoms and use them to travel faster than light, but the engines would need to be the size of small plantes and the atoms would generate enough energy to disintegrate anyone inside the ship. But again they know ways around it just won't be possible with current technology. If and when we travel to Alpha Centauri we will need ships to go faster than light.
I personally believe that it will never be possible in the way that we imagine it. The only things that I think will eventually become possible would be to slow down or manipulate space to make time seem like it would go by faster.
If you didn't know already, time actually slows down around large and dense objects. So if we were able to get into the orbit of a black hole for example (Yes it is possible) the people orbiting that black hole would experience time in a different way than how it is on earth.
As for bending space, it's practically the wormholes that we see in movies, only on obviously much smaller scales.
These things obviously would take a long time to be perfected, but (and this is my optimistic side speaking) I feel that we will one day be able to do this.

In current models it impossible......to go backwards in time. Even if you used the method in the video.
Future it possible due to the fact we are time traveling right now however only forwards.
Until a is found way to bypass the speed of light time travel backwards is not possible in any shape or form in this universe.
In theory you could bypass the speed of light by time traveling in another reality passing back over to here. But no way of knowing if that is possible.
