Compound exercise are better means a exercise that you do that includes more than one muscle group
For example
Dumbell bench press it works your bicep and chest. One another thing if you want bigger arms than do more tricep exercise such as dips as the tricep is a bigger muscle group than bicep
Edit: I see tons of mistakes, remember to workout 3-4 days a week, a day with rest in the middle and have enough protein so your body can recover. You also are missing other muscle groups such as chest, shoulders, legs and back.
