Honestly, I think the answer is quite clear. I could type out all of the information and statistics, but I think that this video just about sums up the importance of NASA. (I also recommend part 2)
I am creating this thread because I am curious if anyone here disagrees, and why they disagree. I don't see any reason not to raise NASA's budget from 4/10 of a penny to one penny on a tax dollar, to an individual person I doubt an extra 6/10 of a penny would be noticed.
It would really be a shame to see NASA die out someday due to lack of funding, and I hope that someday NASA's budget will return to the point where they are able to fund missions to the moon, missions to mars, and advance deeper and deeper into space.
YES! NASA SHOULD HAVE MORE FUNDING. It is absurd that it doesn't. The most of the budget they've ever held was about 4.5%... we got a man to the moon in 10 years of 4.5%. Currently, it's less than a percent.

It would be nice if NASA had more funding mainly because of how objects designed by NASA engineers make an impact on our daily life. Plus I don't think people realize that not only does NASA do space exploration and research, they do a lot of other things which in turn impact our life. NASA is something that all Americans should be proud of in my opinion.

Yes, but we don't need anymore trips to space. All those shuttles and space ships and whatnot are killing our environment.
I wouldn't necessarily say that mainly because most rocket fuels are oxygen based or nitrogen based. If anything it helps the atmosphere out.

Imagine where we'd be technologically if NASA had the US military budget since they landed on the moon.
Fun fact the spacesuit was designed by the United States Air Force. I like the idea though. If not that NASA should at least get 50% of the military budget since most astronauts are officers in the Air Force. It's a shame that the military budget went from research and development for NASA back in the 60s to being used to fund drone strikes and arms races etc.
My friend actually made a persuasive speech on this last week. He made some good points, and althought space travel has brought us some good discoveries in the past. Most of the 17 billion dollars (exaggerated) is spent to go to the moon, the last few trips have been irrelevant. The US is already in a huge debt, that we will probably never be able to pay back yet we are spending most of our revenue on space travel which stopped benefiting our country long ago!!!

If I recall correctly you're spending a pathetically small amount on NASA compared to military and other such useless things. Your presidential candidates - who essentially will make the same decisions - spend ridiculous amounts on campaigns etc. Not to mention the potential that NASA offer. It's unrivalled.
