Against. Its against human rights and the person will suffer more if they have to spend a long period of time in prison.

Any person who rapes and/or murders innocent people is no human in my book, but I would rather have them suffer for the rest of there life in prison than just dying of an injection.

Against. Capital Punishment makes the assumption that we have a right to decide who lives and who dies. That's beyond just arrogant, it's sickening.

Im against it as well, but I was reading the Gad vs Fact thread and saw you do not believe in a Gad which is fine. But who had the choice to see if someone lives or dies then?

Nobody. Nobody has that right. The government has no more right to kill a murderer than I have the right to pick up a gun and shoot you. Just like if there was a god, he would have no more right than you or me. Just because they can doesn't mean it's right in any way. Just because we can't do anything about it, it doesn't make it any more acceptable.

I agree in ways, and i dont in others... To be honest, if you dont want the punishement, dont do the crime.. and once you know the risk any punishment should be totally acceptable, because they knew the risks... On the other hand though, i agree with elfmo, what really gives anyone the right to take another persons life, regardless of their background...

Against it. SOme of these guys who get the death penalty do horrible acts, from rape to mass murder to even pedohilia. They are worthless. But if we kill them then we become no better then them. No one has the to the life of another

im fore it but it depends on the circumtances of the crime commited. like a cereal killer should get a letheal injection ect
