Ignoring the legality and ethicality of piracy(I'll make that debate in a minute), torrenting is an extremely efficient distribution system. The positives it holds are, in my opinion, unrivaled.

Torrents always go faster and you can close the browser while they are downloading too which I like about them. Not really a big thing, just a personal preference.

It depends on the direct download site. If it's MegaUpload ( MU) or the new MEGA, then DDL's because those 2 sites are really fast but if it's like... some shitty DDL site, then no. Torrents FTW depending on how many seeds/leeches there are.

I go for torrents all the time now, I get around 500Kb/s on a bad torrent, I was getting 1.5Mb/s on a torrent with 1 seeder the other day so I always go for them when I can, especially seeing as directs I get about 200kb/s on a good day on a good site

I've used Torrents for donkeys years, and I'll still be using them in many years to come

I <3 torrents. Only problem is that you have to go through a lot of trouble to make sure you're anonymous.

for speed and efficiency I would go for torrenting, but for privacy, less malware, and a low percentage of me getting caught, I would go with direct downloads. As you may or may not know, every torrent has every ip of the people who are uploading and downloading that exact torrent in that time. Which unless you're using an anonymous VPN, is not a good thing for keeping piracy, private.

I always use torrents now because their so much faster!!
