well.. remember not too long ago this used to be normal. My dad used to tell me stories of when he went to elementary school back in the late 50's early 60's where if you were disrespectful or if you misbehaved you were sent to the principal's office to get the strap. Back then, that was normal. That's how they dealt with bad behavior. Today though, I think it's a bit too barbaric and is unnecessary, plus I think the father went way out of line. To be completely honest I had trouble watching it without cringing. The fathers intentions were good... He could have just gone about dealing with it differently.

From what I seen the man seems very abusive... I would assume it is the wife and that she is subject to abuse also. I would guess she got the courage to record it, as evidence for the police.

On the other hand it could just be some hood-rat-thug who didn't give two fucks... Shit happens in the hood; I had friends that have lived in the hood and I have witnessed some shit firsthand.

Your child doesnt do something right? They get a beating, simple, problem solved.

I dont know how you guys live your lives, but for most, this is how they were raised LOL.

This isnt child abuse, child abuse is doing this for no apparent reason because your mad or some other shit. Beatings have been parenting 101 for generations, dont act like you guys dont know what a beating is, i mean come the hell on, you can watch 2 people fight and cheer them on but you dont know what a beating is? You can go to war, pay someone to assassinate another, but you still dont know what a beating is?

Now im not saying i'm agreeing with this guys methods, im just saying it could have been worse, in fact, if he was doing a decent job as a parent, she may not have received the beating in the first place, but who knows. All i know is that to keep things like this in check, you have to be strict with your children in one way or another.

Actually it may already be worse, now their father is in jail (Your mileage may vary) but uh.. yeah. Parents need to learn different ways to raise their kids, beatings are not the only answer, but im sorry some seriously rowdy kids need to get their ass beat, for those of you who have seen children the way behave that i have, you know what im talking about.

Ohhh I know what a beating is; I was also abused by my father. I recall an incident where I got it good because my brothers broke the blinds... Funny part is... I was at school and the second I stepped through the door, I got it.

Don't get me wrong I do believe in punishment such as spankings and what not... But, he did go over a line. It's one thing to use your hand but to use a cord is too much.
As for why people may be disrespectful there is a number of reason in life... All physical punishment taught was that I'm angry it is best to hit something... And the abuse only made my rage all that much harder to control. I worry about who I will become, because of that experience.

What taught me respect was my parents splitting up and seeing how hard my mom struggled... Since then, I try not to be disrespectful to anyone; including those who are to me.

In the end maybe a quick slap on the side of the head and isolation from the outside world and media would have gotten their act in order.

Still this is not ok for a fully grown man to beat two young girls with a wire of whatever. He is a fucking pussy for doing this and maybe if he watched them closer they would not be out doing it in the first place.
